    I also went with 2D WT for the same reasons as the OP and am totally happy with my decision, my Bronco will rarely see any rocks but should be fine when it does. Sway bar disconnect would be just something else to possibly fail and need a fix. OP - 2D WT in Albuquerque!!! I have yet to see...
