  1. Hi just bought my first Bronco and I would like to change my door handles to matte black. Everywhere I look it is always gloss black. Info please

How difficult was it removing those door handles? I'm thinking about installing a fingerprint scanner in place of the door handle key lock on my Bronco this summer, and am wondering was it a pain to remove/install the driver door handle. (fyi, I don't have the intelligent access feature.)
  2. Possibly for sale?

I didn't make an early reservation, I don't buy vehicles that I haven't seen in person and test drove. Just not the way I roll. I only reserved later with Granger, after having seen and test driven a Bronco. Also I attended a free Ford off-road event, to test drive a 2-door manual before...
  3. Considering buying new 2024 Bronco, thoughts on quality issues and problems?

The removable top (and doors) and off-road functionality, is what separate a Bronco from so many other vehicles. If you will be getting significant use from those functionalities, you should be happy. You won't be as concerned about some wind noise, water drips, etc ... because the ability to...
  4. Best lift kit for non sas going for sas look?

I bought a two inch front "leveling" kit that consists of three pucks. I'm going to put only two pucks on the front, and put the third puck on the back. I think that will give me the lift/level I'm after on my base with 35s. Waiting for summer weather to break out the tools and get it done.
  5. Possibly for sale?

Don't people research, test drive and think about use case before buying a new vehicle? Short of some life change (job/health/financial), I don't understand buying a new vehicle and needing to sell after only a year or two.
  6. What Do You Use as a Protectant on Your Hard Top?

My top has a small area of spider-like cracks. Less than a year old, so likewise I'll wait and see what happens over time. I'd like to put some kind of protectant on the top and in particular that area, to try and avoid water wicking into the surface via the cracks or edges. Just not sure yet...
  7. What’s the right wheel offset for a non sas Outer Banks with a 3.5 inch lift on 315/70/r17 for a good center of gravity?

I like having the flat tread part of the tire covered by the flare. With the tire sidewall bulge sticking out past the flare. I think that provides good protection from stuff getting thrown by the tread, while still looking like the tire is filling out the arch and not too inset. So with stock...
  8. Sway Bar quick disconnects

Isn't the Anti Rock essentially a weaker sway bar though? Meaning it allows for more flex in the sway bar, as if you installed a lesser diameter more compliant sway bar? Seems like an in-between from having the stock sway bar to having nothing. Ultimate setup for road and max travel off-road...
  9. Ford technician Trouble with Cam Phasers

How does it usually go? Is it common for a technician to get a flat hourly rate regardless of the work (like a salary)? Or are the technicians typically paid based on the service item, and so if an item takes longer than expected, the technician basically makes less per hour?
  10. Bronco or RV?!

Have fun. Not sure I'll ever be able to retire. Bronco FTW. Reason being myself and wife have very much enjoyed remote camping using 4x4s. I'm not an established campground kind of guy, with all the noise/boozing/ruckus that sometimes entails. I recall the official rule in Colorado was you...
  11. Recall needed - Soy based wiring

Raccoons and rodents invaded my Bronco engine compartment while I was laid up recovering from knee surgery. One day my son started the Bronco, and a raccoon climbed down and out, got it's hair caught in the serpentine belt, pulled out all over. Still didn't stop them from coming back. The mice...
  12. Revert to Stock from 4" lift and 35's?

4" lift is kind of high, meaning did it require front A arms and stuff? That's going to be more work than just removing some pucks. Especially if you don't have the old parts. Regarding mpg, at any rate according to the dash display, my lightweight 2-door with manual trans 2.3L and 35"s is...
  13. (fun list!) Bronco accessories to be avoided! (keep it friendly)

Possibly the most unused accessory item? ;)
  14. ADV Production Modular Hardtop!

"Another plus from Anderson, since it's a 1:1 of OEM, if you need to replace anything you can go to Ford." Question about that. Is it just dimensions that are same as OEM? Or materials also? The OEM outer skin seems a key concern in terms of cracking and robustness. Does Anderson use some...
  15. Auto-High-Beams are Enough for “Reasonable Suspicion”

Back in the day when I had long hair and drove a beat up old '65 Mustang (profiling), I got in the habit of pulling onto a side street and parking as soon as they started tailing me. Otherwise they would follow and find some excuse to make a stop. In your case the lights were likely the excuse...
  16. ADV Production Modular Hardtop!

Well, the game is afoot Trebek. I'll take "removable top" for $200. Because I removed your mother's top last night!
  17. Redline Tuning Hood Struts installed

When installing I put a bit of lube on the ball/joint to ease assembly and maybe reduce wear.
  18. Redline Tuning Hood Struts installed

I got the Redline extra lift version last Christmas, and took advantage of the decent weather we were having in Chicagoland back then to install. Was easy for my son and I to install, maybe 15 or so minutes, being careful not to drop anything. Did not require removal/loosening of the hood...
  19. Bronco Team 2 door.

Nice. How does the 2-door perform pulling that setup? Is it steady at highway speeds? I'm thinking of picking up a similar sized boat/trailer this summer, getting tired of fishing only from the banks or kayaks. (I've got a manual with 2.3L though if that matters.)
  20. ADV Production Modular Hardtop!

Anderson should consider updating their web site, the image of the top doesn't match the description so well (image isn't clear the front section is actually two halves). Also using their search fields for Bronco fiberglass products, I'm not finding a 2-door hardtop offering.
