My 2 door is the same. That is where the seatbelt attaches and they are not threaded. We do have threaded inserts on the sides of roll cage that would work if the top was off. I don't know if 4 doors have those.

Nothing to do with height or hitting the knob. There is a known issue with the lights. They will just turn on by themselves and then off after a few minutes. It will sometimes be on "on" instead of auto when you get out so it dings. But it will often just do it on its own.
