The only reason I'm under this impression is because I've gone through this with a Toyota build in the past, and was assigned a temp vin with a letter in the last 6 that I could track until it was built. After that point, it had a permanent VIN with 6 full digits at the end that I had to get...
It's got a letter in the last 6, which should be digits only. From my understanding it's the VIN given prior to being built. Yes/No?
I did reach out to my dealer, and he admitted he made a mistake - I guess he's been making lots of calls today and somehow my name got tossed in his list.
Weird situation here - I've got an email from Ford last week saying my Bronco has been built and shipped - to arrive at the end of October.
Today, I got a call from the dealer saying my order was pushed back to 2022 and I would need to re-enter my details, etc.
So I checked the "track order"...
"Who's Levine?" I'm only here every other week or so and even I know who Mike Levine is.
"Something doesn't add up" , yeah, we're starting to sound like the jeep forums now. Everyone's a troll by default when Ford or dealerships are criticized.
I said good. The Stinger unit is overpriced garbage. I seem to recall Stinger being a popular brand of head unit sold through Walmart. Still has that top notch quality.
The alpine units were discontinued, and were like $3500.
What else you got?
I have one. I can't wait to get rid of it. Front seat is cramped, back seat is even more cramped. Uconnect is awful and there are no good aftermarket solutions to the head unit.
You'll hate it.
Dealers are desperate. I'm sure mine here will add ADM, but I don't plan on paying it just like the OP. I'm not as desperate as the dealer is, though I know they'll sell it one way or another. Better to make them work for it.
You're not a real hunter unless you're a bow hunter. You're not a bow hunter unless you use a recurve. It's everywhere. Don't even give it a second thought.
They're reevaluating their VIN assignments now that the hard tops are "fixed." Expect an email in the next few weeks saying your soft top build is delayed until MY22.
Not really that sorta person, and I'm not really in a position where I want to take on that level of uncertain debt.
Guess that'll teach me to 99 my order next time.
Shoot me a pm and I can get you my email address. Obviously I can't really promise anything, but I'm happy to see what the dealer says. They may just want to throw it on the lot with an ADM - hard to find dealers around here who haven't because of the market.
I don't know about that. My dealer had about 20 allocated, and I was ~173/175. And I got an unexpected email this morning.
I have a hard time believing there were 150 hard top orders ahead of me, but who knows.
