  1. My Black Diamond 2 Years Later

Where did you mount the subwoofer?
  2. Fake Squatched my Bronco (Black Diamond)!

For the spacer above the shock mount, you don’t really need to remove the spring, but you do need to rotate the upper shock mount 180 degrees. To do this, you need to loosen the whole assembly. Perhaps people have chucked the whole thing in a vise and force it to rotate without loosening...
  3. Increase max tongue weight for ebike rack

I use a hitch extender with a motorcycle rack to haul my off-road motorcycle on my Bronco. The motorcycle weighs about 225 lbs and the carrier weighs about 35 lbs. I have not had issues bending anything.
  4. Removing center top section with bimini top installed

I have the Jtops bimini, as well as a home brew hoist to remove the hard top, and I'm able to do all the removal work myself. My hoist lifts the front portion of the hard top (rear section) at the front bolt locations. So the hoist lifts at the brackets that are attached at the front of the...
  5. Fake Squatched my Bronco (Black Diamond)!

There are several videos on YT, and I watched as many as I could find prior to starting the job. As others have already said, you do not need to remove the halfshaft, and I would not suggest doing so. You do have to remove the front lower control arm inner bolts to let the LCA hang down. You...
  6. Fake Squatched my Bronco (Black Diamond)!

Correct... I bought a set of take-off SAS wheels and tires with TPMS. I wanted only the tires and TPMS. I had them dismounted and sold the SAS wheels for about the same price as I paid for the wheels and tires. I then sold my BD steelies with tires for a bit MORE than what I paid for the SAS...
  7. Fake Squatched my Bronco (Black Diamond)!

I also did a self-squatch with my Black Diamond, although used a different path to get what I wanted, while avoiding the high retail price of the SAS package. My total cost was about $500. I installed aftermarket Method wheels with 35mm offset (same as Sasquatch wheels), so I didn't need a...
  8. Stuttering while stopping

To test whether the transmission has anything to do with what you're feeling, you can try to shift into neutral when coming to a stop. Get up to speed, let off throttle, shift into N, then see if the issue is there when coming to a smooth stop.
  9. Anyone using a bike rack w/ their Raptor?

I agree that a bike rack, fully loaded with bikes, is no problem on either the bike rack, the extension, or the tongue load onto the vehicle. I also use a motorcycle carrier/rack, with a motorcycle that weighs about 225 lbs. No issues. Use of an extension DOES reduce the tongue load...
  10. Anyone using a bike rack w/ their Raptor?

With the spare tire hanging over the hitch receiver, it gets in the way of my bike rack. I bought a hitch extension like one of these. Getting one with a "drop" will lower the bike rack (or trailer tongue) lower to the ground, which helps if you have sasquatch or a lift...
  11. Cost to lift?

Don't forget to add in the cost of front end alignment, as the toe will be off after the lift. Make sure the shop includes that, or be sure to add in that cost when shopping around.
  12. I need help with this yall ! So torn.

I agree with most replies, saying that you should keep both if you are able to handle it financially. Personally, I kept my '14 Mustang GT because I love driving it. I don't NEED it, but I WANT it. I do need a truck or SUV to tow trailers and haul dirt bikes I've had two vehicles for quite a...
  13. Electric top hoist for garage - my solution

The brackets are bolted to the hard top. The gas struts push "down" on the brackets all the time, whether the lift glass is open or closed. The hoist pulls "up" on the brackets with similar amount of force, which actually reduces the load at the point where the bracket bolts to the hard top...
  14. Electric top hoist for garage - my solution

Yes, they are easily strong enough. By lifting at the 4 corners, it really only puts about 20 lbs of force on each bracket. The air struts put far more force onto the brackets to lift the glass open.
  15. Is ICON the only maker of hub centric 93.1 wheels?

To close the loop on my earlier post... I bought adaptor rings to make my Method wheels properly fit the hub bore, which were a nice slip fit without noticeable play. When I installed the wheel and torqued it down, the adaptor ring was "loose" between the wheel and the hub, such that it could...
  16. I flipped my Bronco about 5 or 6 times

I just wanted to point out to a lot of people that it is possible for a vehicle to roll over and the roof doesn't even touch the ground. This is especially true for SUV's where the center of gravity is higher than a regular passenger car. When the vehicle is airborne, it will rotate about the...
  17. Zone 1221 lift install procedure?

I finally got it. I had the correct (flat) spacers on the rear. The issue was that when the axle is in full droop, with shock fully extended, that the shock has a bit of an angle at the top mount, and this makes it hard to get the bolts pushed up through the holes in the frame. When the axle...
  18. Zone 1221 lift install procedure?

I have the Zone 2" lift kit with part number ZONF1220 for non-SAS base suspension, which should be correct for my non-SAS black diamond. I'm having trouble getting the rear struts back into the vehicle after putting the spacer on top. The instructions say to put the strut back into the vehicle...
  19. DIY door storage ideas / pics?

Answering my own question above regarding storing the doors on a high shelf up against the garage ceiling... I was able to lift the rear doors over my head and climb the couple of steps on the ladder to place them up onto the high shelf, and that was pretty sketchy.. climbing the ladder...
