I have a Base 2.3 MT with the base wheels and tires. I use 6th at highway speeds. At 82mph the rpm is lower than in 5th. I find I get better mileage in Sport mode than in normal or eco at that speed.
I have kept the steel wheels and tires that came on my base. I didn’t want to look like everyone else who put bigger tires on theirs. It works really well in snow and slippery conditions. i didn’t seen the point of throwing away perfectly good tires. When these wear out I will probably upgrade...
I showed up with the problem written out for the service writer and I taped a copy to the dash for the technician. I also had pictures AND video. I gave them explicit instructions on how to recreate the issue and noted if they start the vehicle or even open the door before the 1 hour 20...
According to my paperwork from the Dealer, the old switch was 11654A.
The new replacement switch for my Base, non-foglight is: M2DZ*11654*GC
They checked OASIS, reference SSM 51166.
I can report that so far so good. No phantom lights
I had the new switch installed per the SSM in late November. The phantom light issue has not returned. There is a detailed thread elsewhere in the forum. You will need to educate your dealer. Take in the SSM. Many report the lights coming on 1 hour and 20 minutes after shutting the engine off...
You need to have your headlight switch replaced. I had the same problem, and after having the switch replaced the problem has gone away. Mine was coming on 1 hour and 20 minutes after shutting off the engine and leaving the vehicle. It would turn on and then shut off after 10 minutes. Common...
That would be frustrating. I wrote out a memo detailing the issue, what I have observed, the hour and twenty minute delay, and copied the SSM. I went over that with the service manager, and even mentioned I have photos if he didnt believe me. I also taped a copy of the memo to my dash so the...

I took my Bronco in today to get the switch replaced and to get the windshield fixed under that recall. They just called, windshield work is done, the headlight switch however is on backorder. Ugh!
I gave this to my dealer when I went in to set the appointment. The part number is in this.
SSM 51166 2021-2022 Bronco - Headlamps Turn On By Themselves When Vehicle Is Off - DTC B1533
Some 2021-2022 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a condition of intermittent headlamp operation while the vehicle...
What I have observed mine doing is exactly 1 hour and 20 minutes after shutdown, they will turn on for 10 minutes and then shutoff. I have recorded it with my security cameras and witnessed in person and timed it with a watch.
And again, for the Johnny-come-latelies, no we are not hitting it...
Emily, thank you for letting us know! That is a spot of good news and shines a ray of hope that there is a fix on this issue. I go in on Monday so I hope to be able to report similar results.
It seems to happen on Broncos with the simple light switch, ie those that don’t have factory fog lights. If you notice, most people complaining about this have the lower trim levels like Base, Big Bend, etc. Most. Hopefully the new switch fixes the issue. We should be getting reports back any...
First I don’t think many on here won playing Bronco Lottery. They come, when they come.
Second, it’s a matter of deciding what you want. I have a 2 door Base, 2.3, manual. I love the peppiness. It’s a small, quick, responsive, four wheel drive truck. I still have the base wheels and tires...
I have a Base 2.3, manual, and have only ran premium since I’ve got it. I also prefer to run it in Sport mode as I like the way the computer changes the throttle while shifting. Its my third car, only used on weekends and I have a blast driving it. Mileage is around 21. I got 22.8 on a long...
