My main use is to lift the top off, move the Bronco and lower the top to ground level. In northern Michigan it’s not likely the top will stay off longer than a day or two.
I actually don’t mind the sway, it helps me line up the top to the Bronco. I do worry about the single lag in the ceiling, but from my research a 5/16 lag will hold over 200lbs. I use one hand on the rope and one hand guiding the top in place.
Installed a rope hoist for the rear top. Once rigged up I put a “Taylor” luggage scale on it to measure the weight. I got 69.4 lbs. I rigged up 2 double pulleys and it takes about 17lbs to lift the top.
