I had a mid-2021 build 2-door that had this annoying-AF rattle for 6 out of the 9 months that I owned it. I took it twice to my local dealership and they managed to do squat about it. I can't believe that they're releasing the TSB just now as this has been documented in Broncos for more than a...
I live in a very dense urban area with a LOT of stop signs and short traffic lights. Stop-start systems get extremely annoying with this type of driving. Not to mention that the benefits are lost in such an extra urban environment. Totally different matter if one lived in the suburbs.
If only folks looked up unbiased publicly available online resources to understand what the workers are asking for and why, we wouldn't have half this thread filled with embarrassing self-owns.
Sure, but you're referring to features (some of which aren't really about luxury tbh), whereas I'm referring to materials and feel. YMMV, but for me that contributes more to a luxury feel than the odd feature here or there. It's also what the OP seems most concerned about, so I tailored my...
I feel like you're getting a fair number of responses that are either biased, or not specific to the use-case you're defining for yourself and your wife. Here's my take after 9 months of ownership.
1. The quality of plastics ranks lowest amongst all the cars I've owned, which includes an old...
What a pointless thread. I'd think the first thing someone does after receiving damaged goods is to take pictures of said goods and the boxes they came in. Like others, I have/am considering Bestop and this is totally unhelpful. If nothing else, hoping this thread serves as an anger release.
Thought I'd add my update to this thread since no one seems to have mentioned it. I took my 2-door for its service and told the SA about the tailgate rattle. I was told that there is an official TSB out about this. I was in a rush and didn't get the full details on what part(s) of the tailgate...
Nope, the dealer knew EXACTLY what they were doing, no mistake. The fact that they haven't worked with you to correct the situation should tell you this was premeditated.
The tailgate on mine has developed an annoying rattle. Rolling the windows down or playing some music masks it though. Everything else about the vehicle seems to be about as expected.
If folks want to talk about international geopolitics and their impact on supply/demand and hence prices fluctuations on a globally traded commodity, then sure. I'd bet good money that any political discussion here would devolve into a left-vs-right-lets-paste-stickers-on-pumps type of debate.
This sounds very similar to what mine had from day one. It turned out to be an incorrectly installed backing plate for the brake. It was a rotational noise and frequency went up with the speed. Not saying that's the exact cause for you, but does sound like it.
Let me know if you want to coordinate over the phone. If I don't end up making a trip to SJ soon, I can always have a South Bay friend pick them up on my behalf if you'd rather have it taken care of sooner than later. lmk what works best for you.
I have a Big Bend without the side steps, and I think these would fit, right? I'm located in SF but I'll take them off your hands if you still have em.
I have the standard sound deadening material. It's totally possible to have that color under it, but I wouldn't know. On a related note, the sandstone interior really does liven up the interior IMO after having lived with it for a month.
I'm getting these at some point: https://accessories.ford.com/products/bronco-2021-gatorback-molded-front-splash-guard-pair-1
$100 total for front and rear. I don't have rock-rails so these should be fine.
I had mud all over the door handles on my 2-door through the recent rainstorms in the CA Bay Area. I wasn't even off-road, just driving through some backroads with muddy runoffs. Also all the rock chips that are likely to show up soon. Definitely getting mud flaps.
Definitely agree on points #2...
I tried taking my CG BB 2-door up to Mt Hamilton today morning. Was foiled by a road closure and had to turn around. FYI for anyone trying to do the same, the office indicated it'll be closed through Thu most likely.
Mine made a grinding noise when in motion when I took delivery. Didn't notice it the first few days as it was either drowned out by road noise or too faint to hear through closed windows. Took it in eventually and turned out to be an improperly installed backing plate on the left rear brake...
