Near Mt Rainier, WA. Trail got a bit tight at times, but the scratch marks didn't actually scratch! Doing 60 on dirt roads was gnarly and my way of breaking her in! Awesome day and lots of compliments on the way up the mountain. Evan's Creek ORV park is next.
Morning all.
My Wildtrak finally showed up at Fugate Ford! Paperwork is done but they couldn't get it ready yesterday - so today is the day!
I am also wondering if anyone else got a $700 incentive like I did. I certainly did not want to argue with my dealer, as they sold me the rig at MSRP and...
Ha! I am glad to hear the MOAB event is as cool as the Austin event was. They went over the parking brake thing with us as well. Either the pin in the tranny is garbage so they want to make them last as long as possible, or they were just giving good general advice. I choose to believe the...
That's funny. And true. In fact, that was one of the high points to me. These rigs have been driven for a fairly low amount of miles, but they are miles that count. No fuss from any of the trucks, and they are doing laps around the "track" all day, every day. So cool.
Agreed. Another guy and myself were commenting on how they look like they would have probably gripped pretty well on wet rocks.
Agreed. We were running at 25 psi as you should. They looked like they would grip wet rocks with that crazy wear. Either way, the bottom line is that all 14 rigs made...
Oh I am sure it does. Definitely doesn't help.... but well worth it! I used it on a few occasions. My wife was legitimately shocked how i made one particular turn. So cool!
Yeah, I agree that these things have been well used. When did you go? Also, I dunno about doing a bunch of TTA donuts. This was a convoy of rigs on a slow speed crawl that you cannot break off and do your own thing. Would have been fun though!
No. I did ask one of the guides about that though. I will not name names or specifics, but my sole opinion is that they are not impressed with the GY's. They are professional off-roaders though... so that is like asking a PGA pro which clubs to buy.... kinda depends.
The course didn't have many mud sections. Mostly sandy rock and clay. That angled pattern is from crawling up rocks and the course hit 37* on one hill and most were around 20* of solid rock.
These tires have not been babied, and I heard only a few flats have occurred (which is shocking as most...
Yeah, agreed. We were doing slow speeds over rocks and sandy clay. Pretty rough on tires. I wish they had other brands on the trucks to compare between them. One thing I wish I did was to look at the Sports they had there. Anyone take good enough pics of them to see the tire wear as a...
Yeah, very odd wear. My Badlands had 1800 miles but I did not see what this rig had... I assume something similar-ish. I would love to hear from an expert with knowledge of why this wear is happening. I don't want to jump to any conclusions..... as solid as they may be.
Here are some pics I took of the GY Territory tires at the OffRoadeo.... not sure if this is bad or good. I worked at Discount Tire in Phoenix for a year and I never saw wear like this. Maybe designed into the compound for better grip (being optimistic)? Many tires had tread blocks broken off as...
