  1. Anyone holding out long term to be a future classic, or in the Bronco for the long haul?

Agree to respectfully disagree! But keeping on target, the point I am making is this; while the tech is inaccessible or complicated now, in 20 years time it will be "old tech", cracked many times over, with plenty of aftermarket support. You can buy an entire plug-and-play EFI controller for...
  2. Anyone holding out long term to be a future classic, or in the Bronco for the long haul?

It is a cool car, and people will always like/want cool cars. In my opinion the only cars that have a terminal value of zero are the ugly commodity cars. That said, "investing" in cars is largely a fools errand. Jeeps hold their value exceptionally well compared to almost anything else, which...
  3. DON’T use the spare tire to store things when parked!

I feel your pain... especially the part where you know you're going to forget it later. Here my last phone after I forgot I had set it down on the radiator of my Duster while using it as a flashlight.
  4. Show us your installed wheel / tire upgrades here! (Pics)

Nothing crazy, but I wanted to post here for anyone who's thinking of doing the same. 285/75r16 on the stock 16" steelies. Tires are Bridgestone Dueler Revo 3s. 1. No significant changes to ride quality or MPG. Tires are quiet, and perform admirably in ~10" of snow. Gearing feels appropriate...
  5. Bikini top that provides some rain protection?

I've been looking everywhere for the same thing - no leads yet. The Ford / Bestop canvas top that's out now looks like it's really just for sun protection.
  6. What would I be losing by switching from 2.7 to 2.3 motor?

I am coming up on a month of driving 2.3/7MT. I really haven't at any point thought "man, this thing just doesn't have it". It's lively and enjoyable to drive. If you are die hard on the MT as I was, I don't believe you'll disappointed going with the 2.3. Neither of these options are a V8, which...
  7. How high interest rates and inflation before you cancel?

Based on the interest we currently pay on our debt being the 4th largest expenditure of the US gov, I don't think rates really can go much higher. Inflating away the debt. I am not an economist. It is a hobby to me. I do not want to argue, but I like hearing other opinions.

Thank you, little bit too far of a trip for me to take for wheels. Good luck!
  10. Base Base Owners - I have some questions 😬

Only thing I would have wanted is a locker and wheels/tires - probably would have gone BD if it was a bit cheaper / I was a bit richer. I am also a luddite. The only two items on my new car checklist were manual transmission and two doors. I'm going to change wheels eventually, but in my...
