    I'm probably older than most on this forum. People of my generation mostly consider these tie down points, as in strap it on the trailer ; not recovery points.

    Hmm....After much reading at the USA nokian web site I think I have it figured out, it's Nokians way of saying good for both above and below 45F.. It's the jack of all trades AT tire.
