I understand that. If part numbers for the non sas shocks were available I would go to my parts counter at ford and order the entire assembly instead of trying to find take offs
yes, red is usually not meant to be easy to take back out. The glue stick type locker I have isn't like the typical red liquid thread locker. blue will work as well. that will be one thing I redo when I change the fluid again.
id say stick with Motorcraft oil. Learn from my mistake and reuse the gasket without the gasket maker. it seemed like a good idea at the time but was probably overkill. if you use a thread locker on the fill plugs, make sure it has good resistance to oil. I used a red thread locker that came in...
@EIGHTLUG do you have plans of changing the UCA's? do you think it would be necessary to get the full performance out of the kings? thinking about pulling the trigger on these.
please let me know. I used the dana spec sheet for rebuilding an m220 rear axle on a jeep JL.
It looks like ill be redoing this install. I used the information on dana's website and referenced the ford shop manual to find a happy medium, but after more research, id feel better replacing the...
The gasket maker was double duty for me. It helped hold the gasket in place while turning the cover sideways to get it into position and I’ll have some peace of mind until the next oil change when I plan on replacing the gasket. For $20 it seems like an easy item to reuse once and replace to...
I’m at 18k and so long as I have a warranty I’ll continue to use the 75w-85 gear lube from motor craft. The oil looked really clean when I cracked the diff open. Make sure it’s on a flat surface so the axel is level which will allow you to get the 2 full quarts in.
I snapped the bolt because I didn’t feel or hear the initial click that I was at torque so I continued to send it. The raptors are 9.75” rear ends and the diff covers for them are not compatible. I do wish this cover had a drain plug but it is easy enough to loosen the bottom bolts to split the...
So the red lock tight I have looks like a glue stick. it's wasn't the same spec as liquid red. I can update the materials list to reflect that.
update: The lock tight # was 263. I used it for its versatility when in contact with oil. it also has a working range of up to 300*. If I run into an...
