Y'know, I used to think for the longest time that heated seats and heated steering wheels were options not worth buying. "I have a jacket, I'll be fine" or "I can just wear gloves till things warm up, we're gucci". But MAN the first time I drove a car with those options my feelings were changed...
2.0L JL owner here, haven't had much experience in the rocks but I've heard very little complaints in the JL Forums from 2.0L owners that beat their rig hard. The eTorque system (good ol' mild hybrid) works wonders on the road. Gets up to 80 on the highway way too fast for a Jeep, haven't even...
Noticed this too, but I'm guessing its just small variables between prototypes. It wouldn't surprise me to see different exhaust exits or tips on different models kinda like Chevy/GMC does with their trucks.
Now THIS is more like it! Props to Ford for (potentially) one-upping Jeep's Rubicon 285/70R17 with a 315/70. Don't want to begin to start thinking about the price tag but this is great to see!
I think people are forgetting that these newest photos are still of a prototype, not a production model. For all we know this could be production rear suspension, but a fake IFS to throw us off. Quite possible the production model gets a beefier long-travel IFS (or SFA for those who want it)...
Same. I get that people are bummed that a V8 isn’t looking like something that will happen but the 2.3L and 2.7L are gnarly as hell. Give me a 2.7L, some catted down pipes and a tune? Looking at an easy 80hp gain to the tire right there. Plus I’m a fan of turbo whistle so like, that’s cool too...
It doesn't get too cold here in Pennsylvania. I didn't think I would need or ever want heated seats or steering wheels till I was given a loaner car with them while my Jeep was getting warranty work done. I got spoiled real quick, I'd love to have them in a Bronco. :giggle:
I've heard nothing but great things about them, honestly. They'll most likely be my next set of tires once the stock Goodyears wear out on my Wrangler. I know Ford was using Hankook Dynapro ATMs on the new F150s and Rangers so I wouldn't be surprised to see them come stock on the Bronco. Either...
I think they'd be stupid not to if they want to compete with the Wrangler Rubicon and 4Runner TRD Pro. IMO I think its kinda a given that there will be a Bronco Raptor or Bronco R (would much rather see them use the Bronco R title to tie back into the Baja Prototype, but thats just me). But then...
Realized this not even 5 minutes after responding to you. Long day. I’d assume they’d stick with the 2.7L because of it’s iron block. I wouldn’t be mad at an option with .3L more, though.
Solid analysis! As a Jeep guy at heart, I’m happy to see what Ford has put out so far. Real competition will hopefully get FCA’s head out of their ass and continue the Wrangler’s progression and improve their customer service or else loyal fans may bounce.
Same boat as you here. If they keep the 2DR wheelbase a foot longer than the 2DR JL and add some extra interior space I'll be interested. Pretty much just make the @BuckedOff-Road 2DR rendering and I'll be set, LOL.
