I live in cedar, i have done this trail a few times now. Very very easy as long as you have a ok ground clearance with an ok tire. You can do this.

I talked to ford reps in Moab, they said that they are looking into it and that they don't why its currently in the state its in. But they did say that it's common in the industry for the limitations like the roof rack problem.
