    UPDATE: After about 4 months and 5 trips to the dealership later, the issue has seemed to be fixed for good. The culprit was a bad battery junction box. After replacing it, all is back to normal. Thanks to all who helped and I hope this thread can help others in the case that a similar issue...

    Just replied to @flip with the VIN, and @Ford Motor Company told me to take it back to the dealer which I did yesterday.

    I haven’t wanted to mess with the button but I could give it a shot, currently even with auto start stop activated the feature doesn’t work and a greyed out logo is present on the dash. I looked the logo up in the manual and it says that the feature is unavailable at the time.
