Other than software related problems, they have several mechanical issues that Ford is aware of. Two of which have technical service bulletins. Ford wants to decrease warranty spend right now, so I'm sure they have a large team working on remedying the issues if they haven't already.
This is the one that I PDI'd Wednesday. Don't normally do PDI's. I saw it in the back lot when I came back from lunch. Ran up to our manager "GIVE ME THE BRONCO PDI!!!" Loved everything about it. Even the navy pier interior.
I am currently prepping a FE with the 2.7. The oil level is dead nuts at the top of the hashes. This was after the 15 minute drain back. Just seeing if maybe they updated the dipstick. The engineering number on this one is FT4E-6750-BF.
Bumping this. I am currently prepping a FE with the 2.7. The oil level is dead nuts at the top of the hashes. This was after the 15 minute drain back. Just seeing if maybe they updated the dipstick. The engineering number on this one is FT4E-6750-BF.
Unfortunately, this is not uncommon. It's an industry wide issue. Probably crosses industries, actually. Cooling systems are just SO complex these days. Gone are the days of six hose clamps on the entire vehicle. Now it's more like 30-50.
It's the low pressure fuel pump priming the high pressure pump. All direct injected fords do this. It's tied to the park light signal over high speed CAN I think. If you can't stand it, unlock your doors with the fob from a distance I guess.
Correct. Ford Premium care covers all of those modules. The only things they don't cover are wear and tear, rodent damage, maintenance items, etc. Pretty expensive though.
Let me preface this with saying I am a Ford mechanic. The screens are very robust. The only times I have replaced them have been due to physical damage. Slow to respond or no response is a software issue. I haven't had to do anything with Sync 4 yet, but all previous releases have had those issues.
This is not true. If you lost the card and forgot the code you have to buy a new keypad and program it. No modules store the code. It is stored on the transmitter itself. The BCM just sees it as another fob. If the keypad were hardwired, that would be a different story.
