The patterned cloth seats really kill it for me. While it's not quite as bad as a 90s Dodge Neon, it should've been a more upscale plaid like Volvo does. And the headrests should be a solid color.
Really nicely done! I appreciate when people don't immediately go to 35s and 37s and stay closer to a stock tire/suspension. A 33" all terrain tire and good-looking 17" wheel is really all you need without dumping a bunch of money into a rig on unnecessary upgrades. Smart!
OP said he had a ‘16, which would be a JK. I agree that the newer JL soft tops, especially in the thicker twill fabric, are fantastic. The metal bars supporting the top get HOT though. But it’s a small price worth paying for that easy open air.
True. But by comparison Ford must be making a mint on the Bronco Sport and it's a lot easier to produce. I consistently see those selling in the upper 30s, pushing past 40k. The price is absolutely ridiculous for what it is. And hell, most people think it IS THE Bronco. So I know at least a few...
This has to be giving Ford executives terrible heartburn. Ford has too much invested in Bronco as a brand now to pull the plug but I bet it's been whispered about. Bronco has to be incinerating some serious capital at this point.
Compared to some modern vehicles, I actually love the Jeep's narrow dash and upright windshield. Yes, it results in a driving position that feels close to the windshield. On the other hand it makes for excellent forward visibility. When I hop in a modern full-size truck I damn near can't see...
The JK generation was the first to introduce a Wrangler with four doors, which I believe is what Dennis is referring to. It was a seismic shift in the Jeep and automotive world at the time. Also arguably one of the smartest things Chrysler has done with the Jeep brand from a business...
The gauge cluster has bothered me for a while. It's like Ford couldn't decide whether to go all digital or have an analog speedo and tach with a smaller center digital display. In a retro-inspired vehicle like the Bronco I personally would have preferred the latter. Full digital displays just...
1) Jeep hasn’t wrapped its roll cage in foam padding since the previous JK generation. 2) Current JL-generation Jeeps have a body color roll cage just like the Bronco.
Is Bestop not responsible for the Bronco’s soft top? I know they do the ones for the Jeep and they’re exceptional.
Thanks for your thoughts. I enjoyed reading. You have good taste in vehicles. That 2012 Grand Cherokee has no business still looking that good almost a decade later. Timeless design.
Both the Gladiator and Wrangler had their best US sales quarter ever in Q2. It could be interest in the Bronco creating a rising tide, yes. I think it's more likely that it's seasonal. Convertible Jeeps sell well in the Spring and Summer. Also, a good economy/COVID made people re-prioritize some...
As big a negative as I've heard some people on this forum make Jeep's sound bar out to be (not saying you are, I'm just speaking in general), I've never once had someone in the back seat of one of my Jeeps say it was an issue. I've also sat back there and I don't get the complaints. Maybe it's...
That video was a well-shot, knowledgeable and fair comparison. Not entirely apples to apples given the trims and options but overall great. I know it will come as a disappointment to some on here who want the Bronco to demolish the Wrangler - and to those Jeepers who want to deny the excellence...
I've owned a '13 JK Wrangler and currently own a Gladiator. I've loved them both but I'm particularly fond of the Gladiator. I'm typically skeptical of things that are a "jack of all trades" but "master of none". The Gladiator isn't the best off-roader and it's not the best truck you can buy...
Prioritizing making sure those reservations become actual (happy) buyers which will translate to sales and profits for the company which, in turn, will raise the stock price and make shareholders happy. Farley's big on puffing his chest. It's time to execute for the customer.
Ha! This is going to trigger a lot of people who've given the Jeep Wrangler grief for this exact same issue. I mean you're gonna get wet regardless when you step out of your vehicle in the rain. Embrace the Bronco charm, folks!
The more I look at it the worse it is. Not to mention the headliners look like the carpet from a 1980s pontoon boat. There's a difference between having some "first year issues" and releasing a product you know wasn't ready. I feel like some people are getting the shaft with these early hardtops.
This. And Ford is happy to tout the reservations numbers for the F-150 Lightening, Bronco, etc. to any member of the media willing to publish them. Oh and Jim Farley is on CNBC like it's his part-time gig. It's almost as if Ford's trying to inflate their stock price and make shareholders happy...
