Yeah, itās pretty crazy. Iāve heard several stories lately since sharing this. It will be interesting what comes from the local news story after tonight.
youāre welcome. We went through everything with several Apple associates and a supervisor. Police assisted. I was lucky it fell off when it did. And 3 days later, the device was erased from my items detected because it was destroyed. Not everyone will be as lucky.
Iāll be on Channel 2 KPRC in Houston Thursday 12/9 at 10pm if anyone wants to tune in. Some of my info (last name, city, type of vehicle) are remaining private.
Didnāt want the criminal to say āoh hey! Now I know where she is!ā
Weāre looking to move when the youngest graduates in 2024. After 3 company transfers here, too many homes, and 15 collective years, we are so tired of it.
Went through the steps to rule that out with Apple (each family member has AirPods) and that wasnāt it, but yes in some cases AirPods can give a similar alert and can be fixed. When that rep said āoh no, yep this is what we were afraid ofā¦ā not gonna lieā¦thatās when I kinda lost it.
@BroncoAZ thank you. It really is surprising but I guess some really donāt realize how advanced criminal activity has gotten, and/or donāt have the knowledge of technology.
Weāve been transferred here through my husbandās industry 3 times since 2001. Iāve had 8 zip codes throughout the Houston...

One of the first places I looked. I have the cover on it too from the accessories catalog. I can see where it would be easy. It may have even been there before it fell off.
This was in Houston, from the Galleria area to Katy, which is about 40 minutes, going 70-80mph on I-10 so not a small town despite the straight route. I-10 in the city is about 6 lanes just one direction, across. No, no one followed me and had they tried to stay at my speed, and maneuvered into...
Applying this logic, everyone that has reported finding an AirTag that is not theirs and/or getting the alerts that I received from Apple (others have provided articles stating this in the comments of the post) are really just being tracked by a Ford Pass gps app, even if they donāt all have...
It can pick up someoneās AirTag, yes, and if someoneās AirPods are on Bluetooth, they show up in your Bluetooth list. An AirTag is used to locate. Thatās how it all works.
Again, Apple confirmed, police confirmed, the Find My iPhone app confirmed what it was.
From what I understand, it has to be 3 days if Iām not mistaken, to be away from the owner to start. Thatās tomorrow night. Iāll be listening. It hasnāt been pinged yet by the owner since 11pm Thursday, where weāre assuming it fell off, and nothing has been trying to connect to Bluetooth when we...
