I appreciate that. (y)🤩
I got into this after doing my own. The proper tool for the Molex connector pin is expensive so I thought I would recover the costs. It has been fun to include my daughter in part of the "manufacturing."
I make the units selling on eBay. Have straight leads for use with a DSP, 300Hz, and 600Hz available. I also recently started making the kick panel adapters with sub-woofer taps.
If anyone needs something different, or custom...shoot me message.

Most manufacturers list their 4" speaker respond down to 75-100Hz. They do respond to those frequencies and sound pretty good when you are sitting in your garage at relatively high volume. When you get out on the road, the volume needs to up to overcome road noise, especially with a soft top.
I...
This is just an assumption, but I believe that "Speaker" alone will activate a low-pass filter that will reduce the high-frequencies to the front channels. While this would be optimal for the 6.5" speakers, it would cut the output to the dash speakers.
I haven't heard of any reason to mess with...
The kick 4" dash speakers are physically wired to the same channel as the kick panel speakers. This means that they are getting the full speaker range of sound. To protect the 4" speakers, they have bass blockers from the factory.
I started making up kick panel adapters with added connections for subwoofers. For those who don't want to "tap" into the factory wiring, these make the conhection very simple...
I have standard connectors available on eBay... https://www.ebay.com/str/fastdaddy
I can make up custom connectors for some of the more unique speakers with 4.8mm connectors used on Focal, Morel, etc. Have 300 & 600 Hz bass blockers too. If you don't see what you need, send me a message...
I have multiple options with bass blockers. All wrapped in cloth tap for factory looks too.
eBay look up FastDaddy.
If you don't see the options you want, such as 4.8mm spade connector, send me a message.
If you use the Metra adapter, it takes care of the wiring for you and keeps the wiring in parallel. The issue is if you use speakers or components with impedance at <4ohms. This will cause the impedance per channel to go below 2 ohms total, which can create too much current from the head unit...
Using a generic crimping tools to make up the Molex connector for the 4" speakers does not work well. Using 20-gauge wire helps a little, but it is hit or miss if you can even get the pins to slide in all the way.
I broke out the $$ and purchased the correct crimping tool for the TE pins that...
Making up some more speaker connectors for my fellow Bronco owners and reduced the price per pair. https://www.ebay.com/itm/334432880134
I'm told that these work on the Ranger as well, but do not know for sure.
More with bass blockers; 300Hz and 600 Hz coming soon!
That is exactly what mine did. The USB charge port was also dead. Others have descibed an identical situation. The APIM is the SYNC module that kinda acts like an AV receiver.
My guess is that whatever is failing in these APIM units is consistent.
Out of the blue, my dealer called with the good news that they received an APIM module and I am schedule for installation on Tuesday! It doesn't seem like my dealer and @Ford Motor Company are on the same page with the information.
Hoping for the best on Tuesday!
Well, after being optimistic that the Ford support team would come through and help my dealer fix my Bronco, I am told no such luck.
The APIM module is not available and they ever admit that they cannot even give me a forecast.
No radio, NAV, charge ports, cameras or hands free phone...
