While there, can you ask them if this update is rolling out over-the-air or if it must be taken to the dealer to be received? Thanks and keep us posted!
You are not alone. I started a thread on this topic that is currently in page 5.
Also, to save you some time, the Ford rep here will just ask for your info to update their CRM and then tell you to make an appointment with a dealer.
I agree, it’s really surprising and frustrating this hasn’t been addressed. I don’t have a good gauge how many people this is affecting. I would think we’d be hearing a lot more about this if it were a large %.
I had my CarPlay phone audio drop out three times over the course of a six minute...
Genuinely curious.. what problem does this solve? In what way is this better / different than driving with a soft top?
The top seems substantial enough that the driving experience would still feel enclosed and not like an open-air experience, but then it would be much louder than the soft top...
Hmm.. I personally don't know if I would qualify the issue as fixed if it's "still not perfect" and the glaring issues are "mostly resolved." Back before ~October, this wasn't an issue ever for me. I'm glad your effort has made some progress at least though.
I had my Bronco in for the door...
Just had this update and the wiper motor done at the same time.
The window drop feature on unlock is an improvement, but I’ve noticed it only triggers when you unlock the vehicle via fob. If I unlock by putting my hand on the door handle with fob in pocket, the windows don’t drop… pretty...
That's hopeful. Did he have knowledge that the update is meant to address this situation specifically, or is it just a general update and he is hoping it might make a difference?
That’s the best capture of the issue I’ve seen yet. hopefully someone at Ford is looking into this.
The more annoying issue to me is phone call audio dropping. The other person will go silent and I’ll have to scramble to dig my phone out of my pocket while driving to flip speaker phone on and...
Hey, unfortunately not. If you DM Ford, they just ask for a bunch of information about you to update their CRM system and then ultimately tell you to reach out to a dealership as the next step.
Hopefully we’ll get an OTA update like ibuprofen that fixes it.
Haven't found any other forum posts describing this exact issue yet.
As of a few weeks ago, I get intermittent freezing and unfreezing (stuttering) from my Carplay connection. During the moments, the screen will freeze and the audio will repeat on loop the last few milliseconds of audio...
Lubing the seals did not help in my case. The only fix I've found is to leave the driver's panel front right elbow clip permanently unlatched. I guess that suggests it might be overtensioned and is creating excessive contact between the driver and passenger panel?
Thanks for posting. I have two related questions on this topic:
1. What is the correct term for the yellowing bars at the end of the defogger lines that is shown at the top of this picture?
2. Why is that component yellowing, and is that normal?
It's definitely the hard top popping, it's silent when the top is off. I've noticed the pops are also 80% less frequent if I leave the front right elbow latch on the drivers panel in the unlatched position. The noise seems to be coming from directly above that point.
I've had the pins wrapped...
