I bought the knockoff modular bumper that doesn’t have sensor holes (yeah I know but it’s reasonably priced and actually looks nice, just like the regular mod bumper). Anyway I have an Outer Banks with the standard plastic bumper with sensors.
so…now what?
1. Disable sensors? Is that easy...
Holy cow that is awesome! I'm definitely going to have to download and figure out Forscan just for this alone.
My '17 X5 has that feature and it is one of my favorite features of the car! Makes waiting at lights and drive-throughs a breeze.
They do look good for sure! I went with a set of Badlands wheels locally and Yokohoma Geolanders that are P-rated. The original tires I put on them were E-load Continental Terrain Contact. They were super quiet, but dang they were some stiff tires! Even aired down, it made for an...
Yes totally agree. The manufacturers seem to think these days, that there are 3 colors that everyone wants. White, Black, and 17 different shades of silver. Good lord it's depressing.
Bright red. A true orange (like pumpkin orange). Yellow. Green. A couple different blues. That would...
YES!! That is exactly my thought. The Raptor lights actually look good - they are rectangular, and with the housing they look great.
Less concerned with crazy high lumens to light up the world - and more concerned with something that looks good and offers a bit of extra light...just like the...
Thanks! Wow those are not cheap! I was hoping to just buy the housing, and add a couple of the Rigid Fog lights that I found for $325 for a set of two.
There's a Raptor lookalike fog light set on Amazon for a little over $100. heck maybe I'll buy that just to get the housings, and then fit...
Need some help with finding the part # for the fog light housing/bracket to install the Rigid fog lights in the modular bumper. Since I'm going from a standard plastic bumper to a modular bumper...it has no brackets with it.
Can anyone direct me to the Ford part # so I can order these? I...
Since Hoss 3.0 with the Fox shocks that I really want isn’t widely available as takeoffs yet….
What is the next best thing, for the plush ride I’m looking for? I swear driving the 2 door Wildtrak at the Bronco Roadeo felt like driving on marshmallows lol. That is the ride I’m looking for!
Thanks for the advice. I’ve seen some say the 5100’s are too stiff, stiffer than stock. But others say no they’re more comfy than stock. Haven’t seen too much on the 6100’s. Using them with stock springs, would that give the plusher, “soak up the bumps” ride I’m looking for?
Thanks. Buying the shocks, springs and related seats, top hats, etc bring the price up quite a bit. Still cheaper from Tasca Ford than a full adjustable Fox 2.5 performance set.
Not many Hoss 3.0 takeoffs around for sale, at least not yet. Maybe over the next year or two there will be.
So…buy...
Slowly learning more about the Bronco suspensions and I’m hearing nothing but positive about the nice, cushy on road feel of Fox shocks with Hoss 3.0.
Heres the question: Will just the Fox shocks from the Hoss 3.0 fit on my OBX Hitachi coil springs? I realize the Hoss 3.0 comes with different...
Can anyone confirm if the Fox HOSS 3.0 shocks will fit in my HOSS 1.0 OBX springs? I’m just looking for better ride quality not necessarily lift. It would definitely be less expensive if I only have to buy the shocks and not new springs too.
I’ve owned many trucks and SUVs, most body on frame. 4Runner, FJ Cruiser, Tahoe, Yukon, Silverado. Every one has been far more comfortable on road than the Bronco. No, they don’t ride like Lincoln town cars on the road. But they were comfortable.
I love the Bronco. I wish it had better on...
Totally agree. Far too much jump and jolt felt over every little road imperfection on my stock Hitachi suspension on my 2 door. Not sure of the best way to correct it.
Eibach coilovers are highly regarded here. The thought of dropping a bunch of money on those - and then crossing my fingers...
The SAS Bilstein suspension for Hoss 2.0 is relatively easy to find as far as 4-door takeoffs. Good many of those on Marketplace and Ebay.
The non-SAS Bilstein Hoss 2.0 for Badlands is the harder one to find. And 2-door specific is even harder. Even the shock part # are different.
Haven't...
Appreciate all the good information so far!
A couple followup questions:
Can anyone verify if these part # from the Suspension cookbook are correct, if I wanted to order the parts from Ford for my 2 door 2.7L - I want minimum amt. of lift, so these Non-SAS Badlands should only give me 1/2"...
I've never been a big believer in additives in the past. But, as my BMW got more and more miles, I started hearing from fellow BMW owners - mostly M3, M5, X5M, etc owners with the slightly more tempermental engines - that this stuff worked amazing. Definitely makes the engine run smoother and...
Hi, after doing a bit more research I’m thinking the Badlands stock non-sas might be the better option. It’s still the Bilstein shocks and coils but sits closer to the OBX original ride height.
I will definitely keep you in mind if I can’t find a Badlands set of shocks.
thanks!
