I use 303 Fabric Protector because I’ve used it on boat canvas before, but there are any number of companies that make the stuff. Just pay attention to the directions, as you want to keep the stuff off of your paint generally.

Regularly applying a good canvas sealer/protector will negate this concern. It’s a good idea on a soft top whether you use a car wash or not.

A truly touchless one should be fine. I have one that I have used several times now, and they do a good job. No leaks observed on the inside. Just look everything over inside after the wash to see if you have any leaks, and make sure all of the seals are tight on the soft top.

I had a great car wash right around the corner from me where I always took my Jeep (hard top). Found a good touch less one, but now it is 20 minutes away. It was so much more convenient before.
