Yes it took Ford 6mo to repair. It worked for a bit after that. I didnt push. Eventually sold it and I'm waiting on my next, which should be 2 mo from now. It seemed to have resolved the issue but I have no idea. I didn't even drive another how ever many miles it blew up on.
Ive got a 4dr with the 2.3L/MT. I have a 2dr BL on the way it will also have the 2.3L/MT....that being said....the power is atrocious in both (2.3/2.7). Great for low speed off-roading, terrible for daily. Once Ford comes out with a warranty backed Ford Racing product thatll be my first buy...
Its quite infuriating they make a color like that and give all these restrictions;
No Manual
No 2-dr
This is a hot new color with the Desert sand, but I cant get it with the right equipment, hell it isnt even top of the line but its priced like it is....wth Ford?!
So mine has been down a little over 2 months and itll be another month before I get it back at least.
To answer the over flowed Ford dealers questions, its parts. 100%.
I work for my dealer. My guy got it up and we looked at what seems to be the issue.
But He wont take it apart until we have...
Update: Ford gave me a date...I am completely unsure whether it was when the parts would be produced or ready to ship or what. Either way it doesn't matter as we are past that date and it has been moved to the 14th of FEB.
Yes, I went to the Off-Rodeo here in Central Texas. They told us about the small plastic part that holds the park brake on the auto trans. And seeing as it is a manual trans, i have always used the handbrakes that i had on my previous vehicles. (foot brake on my 82) and continued by using the...
Yeah this was mine, Doesn't quite sound like the issue y'all are having here.
I work at the dealer, and we've get our best tech on it.
That being said, they are going to warranty the Clutch Assembly, the Flywheel, the clutch plate, and more.
But since half the parts are on Emergency Back Order...
So....couple things, 1, Ford has changed policy I think most likely due to the Focus fiasco. So their normally wearable items, are covered. 2, since I work at the dealer I've got our best tech on it, and he is a stickler for this kind of thing, he thinks there is no way it's operator error. He...
I drive fast, i used to drag race, I ride Harleys. I love the road. I hope Ford comes out with some kind of tune, because the first 800-3500 rpms are stupidly slow. yeah sure that turbo kicks in and youre off. but the turbo lag is insane. hell if you slam your foot to the floor straight out the...
no not really. not really sure what i would be looking for either. no slipping, just all of a sudden nothing. You could feel the pressure in the clutch pedal change immediately. but there was no grind, nothing to indicate that i had done something wrong.
ha thanks, i think ive got like 70k between the Harleys alone.
Good news is, it is fun to drive, even with the lack of power under 3500 rpms. Feels very much like my 82. like the huge rear gears, the 4.26 launch that sucker like you wouldnt believe. finding a smooth shift point isnt always easy...
As in the clutch plate is fractured, completely splintered. we havent taken it apart to check the trans yet. just put a snake cam through where the starter was. its possible there is more dmg.
Stopped engaging while driving down the road around 40mph sitting in 4th gear i think;
seemed like the transfer case tried to swap into 4hi to keep going; really weird
My clutch basically blew up, I haven't even made my first payment.
Tech has stated that it is a parts failure that even a bad driver would take 4 or 5 months to effect.
Completely Warrantable, but it doesn't matter as there are parts on back-order with no ETA.
So now I have to wait who knows how...
