The o-ring front and back is interesting, mine would be way too tight and would take quite a big of force to get that pin back in. I've been contemplating adding in some more rubber but it would need to be thinner than the o-ring...

Yup, handset has speaker too. It wasn't enough for me at highway speeds and soft top, so I got the Midland aux speaker and it sits right under my seat. At not highway speeds the handset speaker is plenty.
