I appreciate the feedback. This is the first time I have used the wire clip type connector. I was on the fence but I can see where you are coming from. As far as the power wire, this is just a small wattage amp pushing a 2 ohm load the way I have the sub wired, so it will probably be okay for...
If your window sticker shows the sub delete with a $250 credit, you have the dummy sub set up. I believe this was only in 2023, but I may be wrong.
If you don't have your original window sticker, you can look it up online with the vin.
First off, thanks to everyone that answered my questions over the past week or so as I sorted thru my process of adding a sub to our 2 door Bronco. Since purchasing it in 2023, the audio system has been a source of great disappointment. We did have the dummy sub and amp and we did get our...
No need. I hooked everything up last night and it worked perfect. The LOC also had the the REM wire so that also worked out well. I will post about this very budget friendly setup once I tidy things up a bit. After almost 3 years of no sub, it sounds pretty dang good.
I already have the amp and it only has low level inputs so the converter was neccessary. I did discover that the cigarette lighter 12v power points do power down after about 45 min, so I am just going to tap in to that.
My high level to low-level converter requires a 12v power supply, but I want it to come on with the ignition, not have constant 12v. Where can I tap in to an ignition on 12v power source. I checked the cigarette lighters and they are constant 12v. I thought about tapping in to the factory amp...
Thank you. My amp does have a pair of RCA ins, which I assume is a left and right channel even though it is a mono amp for a sub. I would also assume I need to get audio signal in to both input wires to have signal to each of the RCAs. I almost feel as if I should tap in to both the left and...
Thanks for your input, and if you don't mind asking a question. It seems like the most common way to tap in to a speaker wire is to tap in to the passenger foot well speaker wire. From there you would run to an LOC and the hook the RCAs to the amp. Being that it is only one pair of speaker...
For $200 he can get CT sounds 500.1 mono amp and really nice 8" sub. From what I can tell the amp only has low level RCA inputs. I have seen folks wire the RCAs in to the factory harness, but not all of the amps recieve signal because of the resistance thing.
My son is wanting to get his non functional dummy sub going on his 23 but is on a tight budget, so kicker key is out of his price range.
What Amps have been found to work when tying in to the factory harness. I read somewhere that low level audio signal requires a very specific resistance and...
I have done as much searching as I can and have run in to a road block. I have decided my direction, a new mono block amp and retrofitting an 8" Sub in to the factory enclosure. I know what I need to do in Forscan to get it turned on. I would like to get the plug to connect to the factory...
I have seen many posts about the warnings when the doors are off. From what i can tell, there is a small metal tab that is intended to short across 2 pins to stop this from happening. In my attempt to correct my problem I ended up messing this little tab up. I have tried to find a part number...
Back in the day FORD stood for "Found On Road Dead" so I guess the legacy lives on.
Sorry, I shouldn't make lite of a stressful situation. I blame auto stop/start, the worst idea in automotive history. Hopefully they get it figured out for you.
I love the look of it. Took about 10 min to install. It is getting some light rust around the weld joints, but a little touch up will take care of that.
I like high and tight look with very little poke. 35/12.50/17 on factory optional badlands beadlock wheels. These are not sasquach flares or wheels, yes they slightly rub on the sway bar.
I am more of a "5 minuets with a metal cutting bandsaw" than "spend another $120" kind if guy. But if you don't have access to proper tools this a good way to go.
