Yes. I just replied to the same email.
Better late than never to look into this, I guess.
I sold my OBX 2.7L 2DR auto and am enjoying my Black Diamond 2.3L 4DR manual. Glad to not have to worry about my new engine.
I believe you asked how long it took to get it fixedā¦. Mine took 32 days, and they went ahead and replaced the recalled top while they were replacing the blown 2.7.
Some good news: FORD reimbursed my $713 towing bill!
So, my engine was replaced, my recalled top was replaced while they were at it, and now they've reimbursed me for towing.
In the end, it sucked to get stranded like that hours from home in freezing temps with my dogs, and to lose my 8 day...

I was 3+ hours from home, in 25 degree weather with my dogs on a Sunday (I was attempting to drive from NY to NC), and I had to pay $713 to get home.
I tried everything to get reimbursed. I talked with my several rep more times than I care to count.
I called customer care and talked to a nice...
Good job pulling from multiple sources Lucchese.
Sad to see this number keep climbing, but it's not unexpected.
I hope Ford reconsiders their towing policy. That's the part that still burns me the most. I was 3+ hours from home, in 25 degree weather with my dogs on a Sunday, and I had to pay...
No, my AA blew and they replaced it with an AB.
The list says "44) @Mataxis - 1st post - March 13, 3818 mi, new 2.7L -AB"
The "new 2.7: -AB" is showing what the resolution of the issue was.
Here's my VIN and engine info from several of my other posts.

BLOWN ENGINE...
I've done a couple NY to NC to NY to NC road trips and my new engine is doing well. It's averaging 19.6MPG on mostly highway miles.
Also decided to tear out the back seats and build a flat platform, and got an ARB bumper and WARN winch. Hope it's all fun from here on out!
Figured Iād drop some good news (for me, at least) in this thread: I just tested out the new engine on a NY to NC to NY trip. 1,500+ miles on the new engine with no issue.
Interestingly, the engine always changes gears below 2500rpm. Is that normal for a 2.7L? I only had it a week before it...
I have tried a multi prong approach, none of which have been affective.
Ford Motor Company kept me on hold for 42 minutes as they tried to figure out how to reimburse me for towing, only to tell me that it could not be done. They informed me that I should hold onto my receipt in case they...
Good Lord, that is inexcusable.
Have they granted you any restitution for the inconvenience? My dealer has yet to reimburse my towing or provide an extended warranty or anything, really.
yep, this ^^^
The dealer I got the 2DR AMB hard top from said it was one of only 45 madeā¦ but I donāt always believe everything dealers tell me š
Lucchese has a way of making things feel better :-) he just pointed out via PM:
āyou got the solid new -AB engine and with AMB 2Dr - it's a total Unicorn - could be the only one, or extremely rare, since AMB was discontinuedā
Anyhow, hereās the new engine for those that may be interested...
