  1. Small Winch?

I'll stir the pot with my ATV winch creation: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/my-portable-winch-in-a-box-better-than-nothing-creation.72181/
  2. AR | BRONCO CLASSIC DNA Fender Badge

The pre-cut (likely VHB tape) pieces are sticky on both sides, thus having a badge side and a Bronco side. Adhesion promoter probably wouldn't help since the badge side was already stuck on there, unless it could penetrate the tape. It would be best to apply that at the time the badge side was...
  3. AR | BRONCO CLASSIC DNA Fender Badge

No, but the badge side was already stuck on (as I recall). The Bronco side is sticking nicely...
  4. AR | BRONCO CLASSIC DNA Fender Badge

Anyone having issues with them coming off? Both sides of mine are now losing adhesion on the badge side in different places. If I push on them I got a nice pop sound when it unsticks. Very low mileage and always garaged... Original installation...
  5. Ford Performance Tune for WT or should I pass?

I looked into the warranty issue when this tune first came out. I'll repost what I put in another thread. If this has changed, that's great, but I tend to doubt it.
  6. Short Oil Life?

I noticed this same trend. I have 2 months and about 3k (mostly highway) on my oil change and am at 63%. If it keeps trending that way, so much for my Mobile 1 full synthetic extended performance. I wonder if it takes into account into initial wear at all, since I changed mine around 800...
  7. "Flushes" service / maintenance -- Ford's position statement and my opinion (as former technician)

I've used BG EPR with real world results on an 08 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was using quite a bit of oil at 130k. Always used top tier gas and full synthetic oil. That particular oil change came out super black with a lot of non metallic sand grain sized chunks of something and resulted in a 2...
  8. Is it needed to lock the Bronco when you walk away?

It's partially meant to keep the doors from opening in the event of a crash (and thus keep you from exiting if not restrained) and also keep foreign objects from entering the passenger compartment. In vehicles with a door full frame it also strengthens the roof. Then there is the car jacking...
  9. My portable "winch in a box" (better than nothing) creation

I'm going to artificially introduce the failure - A quick release block/latch is probably easiest way but they are expensive. Anyone have one I can borrow for a bit? - I'll pay shipping. And this is why I suspect the testing will be less than impressive. Some people are suggesting that...
  10. My portable "winch in a box" (better than nothing) creation

I'm convinced to test this now (catastrophic failure of the winch line) so stay tuned! Time to bust out the cams, go pros, drones, and high speed. It will probably be a few weeks but I'll get it done.
  11. My portable "winch in a box" (better than nothing) creation

Saw that - It was horrible for sure. If I can figure out how to safely do the test I described above I may do it just for peace of mind and general knowledge.
  12. My portable "winch in a box" (better than nothing) creation

Not sure how it being "under powered" increases the danger factor. Sounds safer to me since there is less force. Maybe you mean "under sized", as in thinner synthetic line. For those who keep posting the Amazon winch, please stop and read the very first line of my post. If someone can find...
  13. My portable "winch in a box" (better than nothing) creation

That makes sense. If you think of it in a more extreme way, I can picture it with no box and bolts that are way too long between the plate and the winch with a gap of inches. Thankfully the box is fairly thin, especially in that particular part. Might be a v2 improvement for me at some point.
  14. My portable "winch in a box" (better than nothing) creation

I fully understand the limitations of this - As I mentioned, it's totally a portable "better than nothing" solution that wasn't all that expensive. I'm not, in any way, comparing it to a "real" winch setup. If I slide off of a snowy trail, it will probably get me back on it, that's all. It...
  15. My portable "winch in a box" (better than nothing) creation

Gotcha - I see what you are saying, but I don't see where there are forces outside of those that are directly acting perpendicular to the bolts themselves, thus transferring all of the force to the plate. Now if the box couldn't move in space (go up/down, twist, etc.) then I could see...
  16. My portable "winch in a box" (better than nothing) creation

They aren't quite as small as they look and are no different from what the winch comes with to mount it, just slightly longer. If I'm thinking of it correctly, any bending type load will be negated by the box itself moving in free space.
  17. My portable "winch in a box" (better than nothing) creation

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B8SJB6XK We're not talking any quality grade 8 stuff here :) The ones the winch came with were even worse. I would doubt that it has enough power to shear them off.
