Thanks. The noise is subjective really. Even though its noticeably louder, people who ride in the car say it doesn't really bother them too much on longer trips. It's possible I'm just anal about it because I know how it used to be vs how it is now. I can try to get decibel readings from an...
Hey There,
I don't have the KC's but I do have the Quakes. They are circular as well. I also have a soft-top. For me, it isn' too bad up to 40 MPH, when you start increasing speed from there, it gets louder and louder. It's still not TOO bad, up to about 60, after that it can get a little...
Sure - basically I connected all the power wires to the LED letters together then to an upfitter switch, next I connected each ground wire to a MOSFET. Those MOSFETS are then controlled by an Ardruino Nano.
You can program the Arduino to do whatever you want the lights to do - the code isn't...
I went with Hoel Wiring. Cost me $90 for a wiring harness with kicker key 200.4 in Bi-Amped mode. He was very responsive in helping me out and he also replaced a faulty part quickly at no cost to me.
I have a t harness and another harness that wires everything up in bi amp mode. The harness comes with wires to run to the dash but uses factory wiring for the kick panel speakers.
I also ran the power off the battery instead of loop back. Since it's bi-amped it is only wires to AMP 1...
I didn't have to add the bass blockers when my key auto-eq'd. Sounds perfect through all volume range. When you Auto-EQ'd did you have Bass Treble all flat when you ran it?
No problem, ill message you them tomorrow. They basically show you what to take off and where the tabs are.
Do you have a manual? I think an automatic already has a grommet through the firewall... I have a manual and it was in a slightly different place, I can show you mine.
So if you are doing Bi-amped, just reach out to him. I didn't see that option on his site either, but just used the message chat thing on his site, told him what I wanted to do and he got me set up. The issues I had were because he didn't wire the first few correctly for Bi-amp mode and made...
Hey RD!
Sure - I originally wasn't sure if I was getting a sub or not so I wanted 6.5's that could produce decent mids and some lows. I don't know if you messed around with subwoofers in the 90s, but SAVARD used to make a decent sub cheap. They recently came back out and I got their 6.5 Rap...
I replaced the dash speakers and kick panel speakers and hooked them up to a kicker key(bi-amped)... I also used a hoel wiring harness.
Was pretty easy to do and sounds much better. You can turn off/on the dsp on the amp and it sounds way better with it on. The EQ is really good. I am still...
