That's been my only issue but it rubs right off. Otherwise, no problem with scratches ever lowering the top by myself.

You could drill some holes in your bumper. A guy somewhere around these forums did that. But nothing bolt-on. There aren't any mounting points.

They used to be made in-house but I think his business got too big for that. Presumably the growth led to a partnership with Coverking

I had the struts back when they would bang against the roll bar (and squeak). I removed them and have been much happier since. But you're right, it could be absolutely anything on the soft top. Fortunately I don't have any issues with mine.
