2 years in on mine as well and it's held up and I still like it. A couple of the buckles broke that hold the windows in place, replaced by dealer for free.
I See hard vs soft as total pros and cons.
While the soft is a little loud (which can be mitigated) and tends to look like a soggy diaper...
Hey All
Going Overlanding near Tahoe in about a month. Looking for a solution to store extra fuel and water jerry cans to the tailgate. Most of the options I'm seeing out there are several hundred dollars or universal types that I am not sure will fit well. Any recommendations? Pic for reference.
I was just out that way the other week, going through Cougar before camping near the trail head for St Helens. Didn't do any other trails, but doing some research showed a couple over there, plus the WA BDR. Thinking about checking that out early fall before it gets too snowy up there.
Never used Go Rhino drop steps for the D6 side step slider. Put one on briefly for fit and decided against using them. No issues, wife didn't need. Originally $223 + tax on Go Rhino, selling for $180 OBO. Located in Seattle, willing to travel slightly to meet, or can ship at negotiated cost...
Actually sorry after reading your post again, didn't realize you want to do the roof panels! There is a middle 1*6 that runs the length of the panel, which might detail that vision. I think the plywood would sag without that support.
I haven't posted my journal but I followed this one almost to a T. This could possibly fit what you are looking for. 5.5" of height clearance and then the width of the rear. If I keep as is, will probably install drawers below to help with accessibility...
So you mentioned not "needing" the sleeping area to be completely flat. Was that more of a personal preference or somehow with the one panel, it is flat? If I'm not mistaken, even folded down, the rear seats have a slight upward angle.
I did a similar build using 2 panels which did make it...
So I don't think it will mirror on the sync screen but trails off-road is a good free alternative to gaia and onx. Mount the phone for steady viewing and combo with the nav system screen on sync(if you have that option).
Are you rocking a soft top or a hard top? I've seen a recommendation for soft top. Install the bestop mesh Bimini, adding a cheap blanket in between that and the soft top.
I have the Bimini, just haven't tested in a tunnel or at high speeds yet. Would love to hear if there are other suggestions...
Is it possible to get decent fog lamps that aren't several hundred dollars? Of all the mods I'm looking at, lights seem to be the most expensive, no cost effective alternatives to Baja Designs or Diode Dynamics.
Do you have a link to that Molle grate you have on the driver side, and the walkie? Currently I'm storing my flashlight on the back of the front seat (Badlands built-in molle) and my utility knife on the rollbars in the back. Looking to get a 2-3 pack of walkies that can be used for long...
If you can post on here when the product is finished, that would be appreciated! I like your design but want to grab something soon. Already have your console organizer.
