I did the 8” Kicker Hideaway under the rear seats. Hits hard enough for me but the key is the location. I tried it in the back but it was too subdued.
Ok, that makes sense. I want to change spring rates to get a lower ride height. I have a 4dr Badlands with 2500 miles on the Kings and my driver CV is way to steep and is making me nervous. I’ve traded countless emails with King and they haven’t been very helpful. They suggested a 500lb coil but...
I'd love to hear about your solution to the King shocks droop length. I'm about to pull the fronts to install a lower spring rate and would like to address both issues at once if possible.
Would you mind taking a look at sharing what spring rate/length you have on the front shocks? It looks like you have the factory bumper and your CV angles and tie rod angles look much better than what I have with my Kings set at 0 preload/lift.
Keep us updated on what King tells you. I also sit too high, 2” over SAS and haven’t had any luck with support at King beyond telling me that’s just how it is. My shocks also shipped with the wrong top hats to give some perspective on manufacturing timeline.
Stock King tune, with the compression adjusters set at 2 it rides equal to stock SAS. Dropping it down to 0 and they are pretty smooth, more so than stock. I have the Icon UCAs which add back in caster, steering is good and just a little firmer “ more effort” than when stock due to that caster...
I have Kings on my 4 DR Badlands SAS 2.7L and I netted 2” of lift over stock SAS height as well. Same 550lbs spring rate and I want a lower ride height and have no plans of running 37's. The preload collar like yours is fully adjusted up. I have concerns about about going to a lower spring...
Your CV and tierod angles look much better than mine. Could you take a look at what spring rate and length you have on your front coils? Mine came with SPR 3-16-550 and after 1000 miles I still have some steep drive angles on the driver side (shorter axle).
For those of you with Kings, when in 4 Auto under moderate to hard acceleration I’m getting a vibration from the front driveline. Front shocks are set with 0 preload/collar is threaded to the top resulting in 2.5” of lift. 4 Auto worked without vibration when stock SAS. I’m trying to determine...
Good point, I have no more than 100-150 miles on them. I suppose I should just drive it for a few hundred miles and put it through its paces before adjusting the rears.
4dr Badlands here, Kings with fronts set with 0 added preload and the rear is set from the factory, looks like 2” of added preload. It’s sitting slightly nose high (1/2”) and this is with nothing in the back “stock”. Hopefully I’ll get around to adjusting the rears.
For those with Kings how...
Cool, planted instead of firm is better to me. Any insight into how they handle washboard roads? I’m thinking about those long roads in Death Valley.
I appreciate your feedback as I want the best solution possible which Icon has the travel numbers and from your feedback they handle well overall.
I’m pretty sure you just sold me on the kit. Sounds like you use it for what it was made for. How is the ride around town when in DD mode? It seems from what I read they are firmer than the stock Bils but not in a bad way?
ICON shocks have been out for the Bronco coming up on 1 year. Who has ICONs that could provide a review and comparison to the stock Sasquatch package? From reading posts I know that there were some issues with figment that appear to be resolved. How is the ride on the street? How do they...
