I think what you are seeing is that the hinge is MISSING on the previous picture. The holes are where the bracket would actually mount to. On the right the only thing left is the middle piece of the other half of the hinge that is still mounted (on the inside)
I also agree after watching it many times - you are seeing the rear axle. Watch closely as it pans, the position of where you see the pumpkin will be farther back than possible for the front

I agree those flares are not great - but I'm reserving judgement until I see an actual production version. Could simply be a prototype or some rapid thing they put together for testing.
But worse case, the aftermarket can fix this pretty easily and cheaply.

It is most certainly a rear wiper. I'm 99% sure there is no roll down window. It is very much a standard/wrangler like arrangement. Flip up window. Comes off with the entire top
