  1. Hard "clunk" from my 10 speed automatic transmission.

I have a 2022 Black Diamond Sasquatch 4 door with the 2.7 motor. I'm the original owner and it has over 12,000 miles on it. A few days ago, driving about 35 MPH on asphalt in rush hour traffic, the tranny gave out a loud clunk. Seemed to operate just fine for the rest of the day. Today it...
  2. Calculating "diminished value" on my 2022 Black Diamond with 2.7 and Sasquatch package.

Late last December an inattentive dude in a Chevy pickup smashed into the rear of my Bronco on a Dallas expressway during rush hour. It's finally been repaired and the bill came to just under $10k. The collision guy said they don't report stuff to Carfax. I'm guessing the insurance companies...
  3. Got an email from my dealer with a personalized upgrade offer.

The email says I'm "eligible" for an "upgrade." I have a 2022 Black Diamond. The offer is for a 2023 Black Diamond and they will lower my monthly payment by over $100. I don't get it. What am I missing? Can someone point me to a comparison between the 2022 and 2023 Black Diamond? Are there...
  4. After waiting months, and only six brief months on the road.... now this

...now I'm looking at a couple of months in the body shop.
  5. Texas boy seeks real world input from Minnesota dudes or dudettes.

My niece is getting married in the middle of February next year in Minneapolis, MN. Living in the land of 100+ degree temperatures, I didn't get an engine heater in my Black Diamond. Do I need to go out and buy a heated dipstick and bring a 100 foot extension cord with me to make sure I can...
  6. Bronco versus Subaru

Fox 24 News of Fayetteville, Arkansas reports that Doug Ramsey, 53, (Chief Operating Officer of the vegan food company "Beyond Meat"), was arrested on September 17 on charges of terroristic threatening and third-degree battery. Evidently while leaving the parking garage after the Arkansas...
  7. Black Diamond Seat Adjuster Hack -- Pull Handle

With the Marine Grade Vinyl seats you use a mechanical adjuster bar to move the seat back. Because of mobility issues, I need the seat all the way back to exit. Reaching under the seat to grab the bar was a pain. I attached the handle to the bar with a wire tie wrap. Much better.
  8. I needed a 12V air compressor for this coming week.

For weeks I've been watching the NAPA online website waiting for their 300LPM Air Compressor to get back in stock. Then Trickster Richard put together a special purchase of NAPA clones for this forum. Alas, I was too slow and Sir Richard slammed the ordering window shut shouting, "No...
  9. StickerFab's Soft Top Gas Strut Assist Kit vs IAG Performance V2 EZ- Lift ?

Does anyone know how their kit compares to IAG Performance V2 EZ- Lift Soft Top Assist System? Thanks.
  10. Whatever happened to "Superwinch In A Bag"?

They no longer seem to be available. I was thinking this could be a light weight backup should it ever be needed. Right now I have no plans to drive across the Amazon Rain Forrest during the rainy season. Should my plans change, I'll mount a monster winch on the front and change out the...
  11. De-ionizing water filter for washing your Bronco.

Has anyone installed a special inline filter with their garden hose for washing their cars? Does the filter really reduce water spots? Thanks.
  12. Foiling car thieves with hidden sister 12 volt lead ?

I recently read a post about how one of our members had his First Edition stolen. The thieves tried to cut the wire harness that powered the FordPass location feature. They weren't successful. I wonder if adding a hidden "sister 12 volt lead" would keep that FordPass location functioning even...
  13. Texas WTB - Damaged soft top window panels

I've read a number of posts where thieves cut through the plastic windows to steal stuff from Broncos. My thought is, if I could get a set of damaged panels I'd replace the vinyl with screening. This way when I camp in the Bronco I could have cross ventilation without getting eaten by...
  14. DIY dash mount rail.

Picked up a picatinny rail and drilled the center hole to 1/4 inch. I had a RAM mount ball that I attached. On the other end I drilled a slightly undersized hole and tapped it to 1/4 x 20. I removed the two "teeth" on each side of the hole. This allowed the tripod adapter it sit flush on the...
  15. GoPro picatinny mount.

The picatinny GoPro mounts I've found so far seem to orient the camera lens parallel to the rail. I'd like to find something that when mounted on a left / right rail would point out the windshield. Thanks.
  16. Avoiding roll bar scuffs when lowering the soft top.

From what I've read, scuffs happen when the top is not pulled perfectly straight back. I don't have a "soft top assistant" so keeping the soft top square with one person is a challenge. When it's not 105 degrees outside, I'm going to explore the possibility of attaching a yoke to the front of...
  17. Anyone Installed a Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver?

Has anyone actually installed a front receiver on their 6G Bronco? I've seen portable winch platforms for rear receivers and just wondered if it could be made to work in front. Thanks.
  18. Symmetry restored.

When I walked to the back of my '22 Black Diamond I noticed that there was only one "rescue ring" under the bumper and it was on the driver's side. I subsequently looked at the arse end of a First Edition. It had two rings! So Ford cheaped out on the Black Diamond! I was losing sleep over...
  19. Rescue stuff.

I have not been off roading yet so I don't know my arse from my elbow. I have a '22 4 door Black Diamond with the Sasquatch package. I recently purchase a 4 in by 30 ft tow strap that is rated to 30,000 pounds. I figured that would be adequate for my vehicle. As I was proudly showing off my...
  20. What's the best location to tap into an "ignition switched" 12 volt source?

I will be installing a wiring harness for a four pin towing connection. The manufacturer (Curt) suggests connecting a wire directly from the battery to their "brain box." That means even when the vehicle is "off" there could be a parasitic drain on the battery. I'd like to find a 12 volt...
