I’ve had the Slipstream for about 2 years. Its always creaked and rattled. A couple of weeks ago I finally got around to completely dismantling it, put rubber washers everywhere that metal touches metal, applied FlexSeal to the square part of the bolts, and FlexSeal to the pins. Completely...
I also had the front center ball break. I used an extra 15" bungee ball to create a new one.
Here's some pics. I included pics of the shortened front bungee. These pics are the "2.0" version. Originally, I just wrapped the bungees along the same path as the straps. But, doing that...
I love the top, but I find the back straps are awkward to tighten or remove, and the straps need to be secured to keep them from flapping everywhere.
I bought these 15-inch bungees on Amazon and to replace the straps and they seem to work great so far.

For example, if the last thing I...
Here’s a link to the DOT copy of TSB 22-2055 with step-by-step instructions and photos. I fixed this problem today with a rivet gun and some rivets from Home Depot. Pretty simple DIY. https://dot.report/bulletins/10208342
Just installed this. I wish I had it last weekend for my first Bronco roadtrip. I can tell it would have made a huge difference for my elbow after a few hours.
