I'm getting 14.2L/100km on my Bronco, driving almost exclusively on Eco mode.
I got 14.1L/100km on my full sized Silverado 5.3L V8.
So far it's not promising. The Silverado was very accurate to it's window sticker in gas mileage. The Bronco not so much. I believe it showed low 13s.
I hear what you're saying 💯 The technology has changed. But might as well just skip the debate and dump the turbos too- and go full electric ⚡ because there's no need for any dirty ice according to every 'expert' op-ed news article for the last 4-5 years. The technology is there, they say...
Never said I wanted one. I love this 2.7L. Just that there is rationale imo for the market of V8s, and I disagree it's a dying breed- maybe forcefully through regulation if anything.
Europe isn't North America. Quick guess in my area- 9/10 households own a 1500 pickup at the very least. Doubt it's 1/100 for Europeans. I only seen 1 ton commerical trucks when I visited many years ago- no personal pickups.
I mean even a modern V8 in a pickup or Camaro is still easily accessible with lots of potential parts. I don't know as many guys who could as easily fix a 2.7L turbo - especially with the absolute matrix of a mess that exists under the hood of the Bronco.
Mudflaps or splash guards will probably be the best accessory you can get to reduce rocks hitting the body. There are several aftermarket sidesteps/running board options- any type should help with the rocks as well.
When I was young I worked at a pretty rough shop. One of the guys tied pink ribbons on the handlebars of this guy's Harley. He was a legit 'biker,' jacked, and a hot head 😅 I was not in on it, not even aware it happened actually until it was quitting time and he had his shirt off at the entrance...
I live on a series of backroads and especially being winter, I need mudflaps. So there's basically the reasonably priced molded splash guards, or the (imo) pricey Gatorbacks. Finally found the non-logo Gatorbacks which is slightly cheaper, and now it appears they have the no plated version which...
Is it a good idea? No. Would I ever do it to my Bronco? Not a chance.
Would I still think one of these is hilarious and awesome in person if I seen it? Absolutely. Parked in the same lot, noone would ever pay attention to vanilla Bronco like mine if one of these were parked nearby. Just being...
I forget exact thread but someone on here was going for a vintage vibe with white accents- top and grill in white and iirc they had the white lettering on tires. Looked good 🔥
This truck needs some work on the lines- I can't say anything too badly about it tho- it's not that far out there compared to my old Silverado I put halos in 😂 I posted pics of it in another thread and the reaction was worst than this- 6g folks just do not like an original looking pickup 🤷♂️
