This was designed specifically to be quiet running down the road, that's where the unique appearance comes from. We used CAE Fluid Dynamics throughout the design process to reduce potential for whistling or other sounds in this design.
They may have referred to installing the Amber reverse light (separate part) on the base, you do need to flash for that.

Hello @BurlyBronco we have seen some surprisingly good success in reducing this flapping sound of the soft-top by simply adding pipe insulation around the metal bars, this reduces the ability of the canvas to flap agains the supports...

If you have the factory Aux switches you can just extend the cables to the Aux switch location. If you don't have wiring available to extend the cables or you just prefer to have an easier installation the wiring harness may be a good solution for you.
