  1. MIC hard top wind noise reduction …best results so far - using rubber gasket strips

For this application I did not remove the top I just stuffed it into the place. I attached what I used. I purchased from Amazon. You could also try some 1” square foam which I am sure you can find at all hardware stores. It might be cheaper and work just as well. This is just something I had...
  2. MIC hard top wind noise reduction …best results so far - using rubber gasket strips

Here is a picture of the tubing I stuffed in the space from the interior rear. In the photo it’s partially removed. It seemed to have helped. You could start with stuffing some foam in there and see if it helps your situation.
  3. MIC hard top wind noise reduction …best results so far - using rubber gasket strips

I was able to move it into the position in the pictures by myself. I wouldn’t be able to fully remove it by myself though. I would recommend another set of hands just to ensure you don’t damage the set pins.
  4. MIC hard top wind noise reduction …best results so far - using rubber gasket strips

This is a picture from inside sitting in the back seat. Unfortunately there isn’t much more room for obtaining a wider shot. What you are seeing is the inside leading edge of the hardtop. I unbolted the hardtop and lifted and slid it back in place abou 10” and it’s sitting on its set pins in...
  5. Gnarly tailgate rattle

I am sad to report that the rattle has come back….the dealer has replaced my tailgate twice now (that’s 3 tailgates in total) and the tic / rattle / pop is back with vengeance. This current tailgate is the worst one so far. I am so disappointed in @Ford Motor Company. At this point I don’t feel...
  6. Gnarly tailgate rattle

I added a thin rubber gasket to top leading edge where the tailgate meets the window frame and it’s dramatically reduced the hollow rattle sound. I may consider a different type of gasket as I don’t want impact any weather sealing….but it’s a start.
  7. Tailgate Rattle

I received my Bronco back after a week+ in service. It is not fixed at this point. I was told that it was inspected by a Ford engineer technician. They stated that there was “warped” mounting hardware and are going to be replacing the tire carrier bracket and that parts are on order. I will have...
  8. Tailgate Rattle

    Mine is a Badlands non-Sasquatch
  9. Tailgate Rattle

I don't have any updates yet. I dropped it off yesterday and it's been there ever since. I have previously had this happen and they replaced the tailgate. I drove for some time (4000 miles+) and the sound started up again. Since the time that I scheduled my appointment until now the sound...

Hello. Is there any update on the trail sight deletes?
  11. Tailgate Rattle

I took my Bronco into my dealership today and I have a scheduled appointment 10/20 to have it evulated by a technician. I will keep the thread updated once I have more info. However, I can say that the metal ticking sound has gotten worse and grows more frequent everyday I drive my Bronco. I...
  12. Tailgate is rattling AGAIN!

I haven’t yet…I may resort to that. I feel like this is a potential design flaw.
  13. Tailgate is rattling AGAIN!

I’ve had my tailgate replaced as it had a persistent metal rattle / pop / click. It’s been about 4k miles since it was replaced and the metallic rattle is back. Maddening! Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do?
  14. Tailgate Rattle

yes this happened to me. My tailgate was replaced…. It’s been about 4000 miles since… AND NOW THE METAL RATTLE HAS STARTED BACK UP! So maddening. @Ford Motor Company
  15. Time to lower the road noise / NVH sound level - my DIY sound deadening material install project

I ordered the strips. Did you have to remove the top to apply them? Also, to confirm, the flap overhang (portion without the double sided tape) goes towards the pilar correct?
  16. MIC hard top wind noise reduction …best results so far - using rubber gasket strips

I removed my top over the weekend. Here are a couple of photos. Hope those provide a bit more perspective of what I have done.
  17. MIC hard top wind noise reduction …best results so far - using rubber gasket strips

Yesterday I taped over the gap between the side pillar and the hardtop. It seemed to change the acoustics. A flange covering this area might be a good workaround….thoughts?
  18. MIC hard top wind noise reduction …best results so far - using rubber gasket strips

Yes. I actually had enough to apply some to my neighbors bronco as well.
  19. MIC hard top wind noise reduction …best results so far - using rubber gasket strips

The flat side of the gasket strips has adhesive tape. They are not permanent and can be removed if you see fit. I only applied to the rear hardtop section independent of the roof top panels, so they are not impacted in any way.
