One of my favorite things to laugh at at car shows is guys with their left arm hanging off the window sill and their right hand at 12:00 on the wheel as they drive around, announcing to the world that they have a sissystick.
I think it's a hate of enthusiasts issue- I'm betting they've already written the press release about how given low interest they're killing the manual, but they tried! Now that that's out of the way, more mall crawlers on 37"s!!!!!!
See, on Monday, that's how I read things- but everyone had convinced me I was wrong and it wasn't THAT bad. I was even thinking that the yellow one with the manual and that redish-brown leather was looking sharp...
Turns out, I was right, and it is that bad. No question, this will kill the...
Why do people keep saying this? It's not true- the specs clearly put the 2.7 in the range of the tranny. That Ford doesn't want to bother designing a second bellhousing seems plausible, but it's not a strength issue.
Depends on the situation. In the case of the truck, I really didn't want a diesel, and really didn't want to pay the premium for that engine just to get the tranny I wanted. Also, they cancelled it before I was financially able to do it anyway.
On my current car, I missed the order window by...
We need another reaction emoji- I want to like this, but I also want to hate this...
This is what I've been trying to say: Configuration limits plus stupid dealers effectively relegating the manual to the bargain bin kill manual sales, not lack of buyers. One choice is to settle, the other is...
No, in fact the addition of the automatic is what opened up the market to people of the land, the common clay of the new West.
Prior to the hydromatic, only people who could drive a manual could drive at all. As dealerships gained the power as the middle man in the transaction, they drove...
The fact that there are rarely manuals left at the end of the sales season suggest you're wrong.
What I'm really curious about is how the numbers would shift if everyone ordered what they wanted rather than what the dealers decided the customers want.
