My dealership has no idea of the window/door module update. They are asking if there is a TSB or reference code for the update. Someone had posted SSM 51895 on the forum, but they said that is not a proper reference code.
does anybody have anything more concrete to share with my dealer?
What is your thought about using the fill plug from the rear differential cover in the transfer case? I just swapped my cover with the Ford Performance Cover.
Great catch! I just reached back out to Flip to see if he could confirm the part number and that is belongs to the advanced transfer case, not the part-time transfer case.
Flip replied with the part number transfer case drain plug is AB3Z-7A010-D. I called a local dealer to order and it is on backorder with no timeline for when it will be in stock. They ordered it for me. I will run "as is" and when/if the drain plug comes in I will see if it has a magnet. Flip...
Hmmm...I wonder if the fill plug from the OEM rear differential would fit? Since I am no longer using it, I could use it in the transfer case. Thoughts?
I am not sure if that is by design? Maybe it has to do with supply constraints? I will call my dealership tomorrow to inquire. I have not been able to find the OEM drain plug anywhere online.
Please beware...my transfer case drain plug did not have a magnet. The drain plug was identical to the fill plug. CarbonSteel has confirmed the drain plug should have a magnet. This is another reason to drain your fluids early. I will now order a drain plug with a magnet and change the fluid again.
I have a 2.7 4dr Badlands Sasquatch with 4x4 Advanced Auto. I changed my driveline fluids yesterday and my transfer case drain plug did not have a magnet. The drain plug was identical to the fill plug. I have been following the "driveline fluids" thread and it has been confirmed that the...
I changed the fluids in all 3 yesterday. CarbonSteel was an excellent resource and help. I really appreciate you CarbonSteel and the contributions you have made to the thread and forum at large. Everything went textbook because of the detailed write ups and videos. I was able to easily remove...
If you are sticking with OEM gear oil, please note that there is a discrepancy and change between the 2023 and 2024 owners manual as it relates to the front differential gear oil.
In the 2023 owner manual, there were two different oils recommended, one for the front and a different for the...
Do you have a link to what you purchased, stainless rubber lined clamps and studs or did you end up using the studs that came with the Ford Performance differential cover? Thanks
