  1. Odd behavior in HVAC system.

It is very annoying to have the hvac set perfect while driving down the interstate and then all of a sudden the vents blow 50mph air in your face. In the Texas summer it is just annoying, but in the winter it is freezing cold air. I found a quick push of the recirculate button off then back on...
  2. Driving on wet paved roads?

It’s not a speed thing. It is trying to leave from a stop. People are complaining that Bridgestone tires do not get enough grip on wet surfaces. I can agree with them. I have never had tires this bad.
  3. Driving on wet paved roads?

This issue has been beat to death on the Outer Banks page. And yes the Bridgestone tires suck. I can attest to that. I always drive pickups (rear wheel drive with light backend) and never have that problem with anything else. The Bronco looses traction at the slightest throttle input on wet roads.
  4. New SSM 51014 released by Ford explaining 2.7 engine dipstick confusion

Seems Ford doesn’t learn. In 1996 I bought a Mustang GT with the all new 4.6l. Same issue. There was a discrepancy with the dipstick and actual fill level. Ford eventually sent out a supplemental page to the owner’s manual with corrections. It was all in print in those days.
  5. Cracked Windshield

Got one on order from my dealership. Cracked my window in three places driving in a snow storm and sanded road.
  6. Cracked Windshield

I had mine on I25 in Colorado during a snow storm. 150 miles of road sand pelting the window resulted in thousands of pits and two cracks. This is from sand. The window is not dirty. Those are sand pits.
  7. Road trip gone bad; broken windshield, broken window regulator

you should see the size of sand granules they use in Colorado. I saved some that was piled up on my runner boards.
  8. Road trip gone bad; broken windshield, broken window regulator

Good luck and hope you can get it sorted out. Got my Bronco back today and the regulator was broken internally. All works as should now.
  9. Road trip gone bad; broken windshield, broken window regulator

I think the problem was the snow would melt in the daytime sun and freeze again at night. The melting snow would have water intrusion into the window channels and regulator which would freeze there. My service writer said the Super Duties have a recall for water intrusion. The water drips on the...
  10. Road trip gone bad; broken windshield, broken window regulator

I took the tape of as soon as I got home. It wasn’t stuck on very good due to all the dirt and toad grime.
  11. How's the Bronco windshield holding up against rocks?

I got stuck in a snow storm in CO last week while vacationing there. 2000 miles on the odometer and my windshield is trashed from the sand off the road. Thousands of tiny pits which four of them cracked. The window looks dirty in the pics but that is pits from sand and snow spray. Super soft...
  12. Road trip gone bad; broken windshield, broken window regulator

I have noticed that Mustangs do not suffer the same fate. My service writer told me today that there is a recall on new F250/350 for ice build up on the latch mechanism inside the door. When you pull the inside handle to get out, it snaps the whole latch release.
  13. Windshield Issue?

I forgot to mention that Bronco Sport and Ranger owners are reporting the same issue with their windows pitting and cracking from winter road sand.
  14. Windshield Issue?

This is my window after about 150 miles of sanded interstate driving in a snow storm. The whole window is trashed. I’m 49 years old and had many vehicles and never have I seen this before. That is not dirt on the windshield, it’s pit from sand. I have four cracks all happening in a three hour...
  15. Road trip gone bad; broken windshield, broken window regulator

the bottom picture the windshield looks like it has specks of dirt on it. Those are actually the sand chips. I cleans the window before taking the picture.
  16. Road trip gone bad; broken windshield, broken window regulator

Indexing of the window seams like a really bad idea to me.
  17. Road trip gone bad; broken windshield, broken window regulator

What make you think I was tailgating? That is not something I do especially in a snow storm where visibility was extremely bad. Most of the damage is on the passenger side which lead me to believe it happened when passing vehicles. There was damage on the driver side bit somewhat less. I have...
  18. Road trip gone bad; broken windshield, broken window regulator

I called the service manager, I am good friends with him, and he is looking into the window regulator. I haven’t told him about the windshield because I didn’t see the issue until I got home.
  19. Road trip gone bad; broken windshield, broken window regulator

Took our brand new Outer Banks for a trip to Colorado for some snowboarding. We left central Texas and all was well on the trip up. The Bronco run and drove like a champ. While at Vail, it snowed every morning then the sun would melt it during the afternoon. Refreezing would occur nightly. This...
