Mine's a 23' base. I put BD wheels on it with 285/75/17 BFG AT tires.
The challenge bringing it to a dealer is they'll need to duplicate the problem so if you can do some testing ahead of time and find the scenario when it happens that'll be a step in the right direction.
Good luck with it.
sounds like you're an experienced driver with short wheel base and large tires so you know something's not right. Really there are too many variables that can cause this besides a defective vehicle so I'd recommend trying to duplicate the problem when you don't have something to crash into in...
Thank you. Mine is a 77' which was the last year of the 1G but I was trying to explain how they overcame the spare tire/ tailgate combo on the 1G's. I wish I had a picture of the spare tire swing mechanism installed but I removed mine. I'm sure Googe has pix though.
The 1G broncos had a swing out spare tire holder to allow for the tailgate to open. The mounting base was near the right brake light and it hinged outward to allow the gate to drop. I have a 1G and removed the entire assembly from it because it doesn't look good and is awkward to use. I also...
Correct. Your stock wheels are too narrow for the tires that you bought. Lots of people run that combo but a tire store is correct to not install it due to liability. The tread of your tire will be bulged out and the center of the tire will wear faster than the edges, plus your contact patch to...
Great looking ride. Enjoy it.
Very similar idea here.
Base with BD take off wheels powder coated body color with 285/75/17 BFG's.
Old school brick on wheels look.
In short, professional thieves stole a Braptor and then got a vin# from an unsold matching one. They then fabricated new vin tags for the vehicle, a new window sticker and a new title to match the doner vin#.
OP purchased the stolen Braptor after confirming documents matched and going to the...
For the OP, I didn't read all of the posts so this may have been suggested already but you should check your business insurance. I know you planned to flip it but you mentioned initially hauling car parts so if you bought and registered it for business it's a business asset and would be covered...
Good looking Bronco. The base steelies are a little too narrow for those tires so they might wear in the middle of the tread more and a bit less contact patch because of the curve of the tread. Lots of people are running them that way though.
The BD steelies are a bit wider and you can find...
ok, thanks for the info. I think I'll go with the sunrider and possibly just swap it back n forth once a year. I'm concerned about the extra noise but it might not be an issue.
thx
Since you have a Sunrider I have a few questions also. Can the hard panels be installed over the sunrider, or can the sunrider be easily removed to switch back to the hard panels for the winter months? I like the idea of the sunrider for warm months and hard panels for cold months.
thank you,
I was just hoping for a mod to bring it more in line with my 77' bronco and other Jeeps that I've had. Those just lift off so it takes literally seconds. It's not that the new Broncos are hard or take long, but if you're use to just lifting up and setting the door down this is not an improvement...
I'm fine removing and installing them myself but I was just hoping someone had a creative way to make it faster or an aftermarket company developed a mod. The weight of the door isn't the issue, it's that they designed it with one bolt going up and one bolt going down. If both bolts went up I...
