There is no such thing as ābaseā with ārubicon packageā. You have a Rubi - itās the top-level trim for a Wrangler, and itās nowhere near ābaseā. Jeep āhidesā the locking diffs and sway bar discoās in the Rubi trim level just like Ford is doing here with the badlands.
Choosing it over everything that's not a wrangler because it's topless, and choosing it over the wrangler because I'm tired of FCA quality... Plus TBH what I've seen so far looks so much more thought out and well packaged. And sexy!
I meant it flipped up to *close*, not open - like a tailgate. But it doesn't appear to do that - a closer look at the ends shows a place for it to slide in....
Unless it flips up instead of slides out... A beefy hinge would be much less susceptible to sand than a sliding mechanism, and would hold more weight for less complexity.

Nope, after a closer look it's pretty obvious it slides out. That may give some additional flexibility on size...
I don't care about the color, as the top will mostly be off... Marine grade vinyl and a good windbreaker for drizzly days, and throw the soft top on for the 3 months of bad weather.
Also, Iād like SecuriCode or whatever Ford is calling the keypad these days - for the rainy days when I have to put he doors back on. I really got used to having that on my F250... very handy.
I would *love* the onboard generator option from the new F-150. As in LOVE LOVE LOVE. Iād pay a lot (including the hybrid tax) to get the 7.2kw version.

edit - oh yeah, On Board Air too since Iām dreaming...
I donāt think you understand the internet. You have to have very weak opinions which you defend fiercely - especially in the face of any evidence you may be wrong.
I'm thinking it will start being a problem for Jeep right around 7/14. FCA's quality and engine choice both stink, and lots of us Jeep fans keep buying because it's the only option for doorless, topless, go anywhere fun (or at least the appearance of it). If I can get all of that in a Ford...
I really wish the tailgate would swing open the other direction (hinges on driver side). After having lived with a wrangler, I can tell you it's nicer to be able to open the tailgate from the sidewalk side than to have to stand in the street while opening it...
How do you figure the 4 door has an extra 12ā of wheelbase and 15ā of ācabinā space but only one inch of extra rear legroom and LESS cargo space than the 2 door?? I didnāt graduate college, but I took enough math to know that doesnāt add up...
