  1. Towing a 'Big' Boat (for the Bronco)

Been a little while, but wanted to make multiple trips to my local launch before writing up a conclusion. Backing down is fine. Wish the Bronco had a manual E-brake because the electronic E-brake makes me nervous seeing reports of it just randomly releasing. Upside to the E-brake is that it...
  2. Towing a 'Big' Boat (for the Bronco)

Absolutely. My first big purchase for this boat will be surge brakes. Unfortunately the hubs will not accept them so I'll be swapping those. Torsion axles have seen better days so will most likely swap those too. Will end up being ~$3k but well worth it.
  3. Towing a 'Big' Boat (for the Bronco)

DISCLAIMER - I do NOT recommend doing as you see here. This post is meant to inform and potentially discourage others. Fully aware you guys will probably rip me. Bronco Specs: Year - 2022 Trim - Black Diamond Engine - 2.3L I4 (Sport Mode Enabled) Transmission - 7 Speed Manual (heh) Rated Towing...
  4. Factory Soft Top Squeak/Popping when Top Open

I'm unfamiliar with the area you're applying the soft felt stick pads, but will try to locate it. The popping I'm experiencing with mine seems to be coming from the torx screws at either end of the metal crossbar sealing the tailgate. I noticed that the bar is able to shift vertically. Will...
  5. Hi-Lift Jack mount location?

Awesome setup. Do you know the hardware specs by chance?
  6. Installed my new gloss black bronco badges.

I got mine from https://badgeslide.com/collections/car-emblems-collection/products/10-in-metal-bronco-self-adhesive-emblem-vintage-car-badge Not cheap and straight from C H I N A. Quality is so-so. Only thing I'm not a big fan of is the thickness of the 3M double-sided tape. I need to get a...
  7. Rusting grab handle bolts, Ford SSM 50660

A few reasons; 1) Dealerships suck ass 2) Will take weeks to acquire new bolts (I'll still request some anyway) 3) What guarantee can Ford give me that the replacement bolts won't have the same exact problem? If Ford didn't make these in a ridiculous custom size, I would have already...
  8. Broken tie rod.

Christ, would you guys stop linking outer tie rods when it's the threaded inner tie rod that's breaking? Save yourself some money and just get a steel sleeve. Something like this; Broncbuster splint is way overpriced. Any machine shop with a 3-axis mill can make that from some scrap 6061...
  9. Hoss 3.0 and On-Road Performance

The question; is ~30% stronger tie rods strong enough? Aftermarket solutions provide larger diameters and wall thicknesses. I would prefer a factor of 2 or 3 on strength. Broncos aren't going to outer space so ~10lbs+ of weight won't be a problem.
  10. Hoss 3.0 and On-Road Performance

I'm just wondering if people will still be snapping tie-rods.
  11. Excellent 2.3L Bronco Oil Change Video

For the 2.3L, Ford recommends 5W-30 Synthetic Blend. Any of you guys running full synthetic anyway or a different weight and why?
  12. Rusting grab handle bolts, Ford SSM 50660

Exactly. To top it all off, you can't find bolts in this exact size. I'll just be soaking mine in vinegar then spray with rustoleum. Dimensions if anyone cares...
  13. Rust on Trail Site Bolts

Removed my rusty cap screws and took some measurements. Unfortunately, McMasterCarr doesn't carry anything this size. Main problem is the head diameter. If anyone finds a part number or stainless steel replacement, please let me know. Ford gave the engineers a little too much freedom...to my...
  14. Rust on Trail Site Bolts

Do you know the specs on these?
