I asked about this and apparently it can't be retrofitted as it's a new design...so they say. I have the new design rack getting shipped out first part of February to test that theory. I will first see if I can make the new fairing fit.
If it doesn't, then I'll assemble the rack and see what's...
Howdy everyone!
I figured I'd give you guys an update on the rack. Functionality-wise, everything is working as it should and holding up pretty well.
The added weather stripping to help mediate the wind noise HAS done some damage to the paint around the trim. This is somewhat my fault as I...
Very fair! I was unaware this seemed like a "2-piece" rack issue. The reason why I asked about the stock support brackets was because I noticed they're soooo thin and the leverage (shown in video) seems very excessive. I understand this was to make it easy to access to take off the rear cap, but...
I doubt it as the load is more dispersed than the stock mounting bracket. JCR has been around the block with Jeeps, so I assume they've tested this.
The flexing and sounds that this was making before the install weren't good. It was clear that it was stressing that bracket and backing out the...
Just installed the JCR Roof Support!
Had some AWFUL squeaks and rattles coming from the top after installing the rack, RTT, and off-roading. This was due to the weak stock roof bracket having so much deflection.
I haven't seen much coverage of this, but I installed the JCR Offroad roof support...
Update: The code to save some $$ is now "DOTY5"! They had to update it in their system. Also, if you're on the fence about this roof rack/other accessories from them, the code "DOTY5" can be stacked WITH the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals.

Yeah then you should be fine! Getting the nuts on rear cover back on can be kind of a pain in the butt, but my gf was able to reach in since her hands are smaller.
Oh ok sweet it uses the same T channel mounting method as most other tents. Yeah it'll be an easy install without the roof panels on. Just remove the front 3 (I did it while at the person's house who I picked up the NIB tent from and just laid them in their lawn lol).
If the M8 hex cap bolts...
What tent are you buying? I need to film a YouTube video and was thinking of filming my "1 Year of Ownership" type of video so I can showcase the tent and how it's mounted for you (also how to remove the roof panels)
Yep the front 3 panels all come off. The middle one comes off just the same as the front two. You unlatch it and lift slights and pull out between the roll bar and roof rack. Super easy - no real trick to it.
Fixed it! Pretty easy. I'd say my technique was wrong. When you install it - push up into the fairing as well as into it. So sort of pushing back toward the rear of the car and up into the groove diagonally. That's what really helped me get it to lay flat.
I knew it could look way cleaner...
