I've learned that if you want it quieter, run in eco. We just got back from fla and I ran in eco for milage and quietness. I love it loud, just not for 2,000 mile round trips. LOL.

You're right, I had read about other people taking it off but I wasn't sure how to do it. So, I just tied string around the end of each bolt and fished it through.
