To my knowledge and our Field Service Engineer the AB is the most current updated versions. Will there be an AC? AD? AE? They could update this 10 times and not fix it. Who knows. I'm used to Ford doing things this way unfortunately 🤣
I was able to personally install a new updated transmission into my personal Bronco yesterday......as soon as I get a cold soak I will update all of you...I was very surprised to find that the new AB transmission has a more solid feeling shift engagement, a change that I was not expecting, but...
I spoke with engineering again today. I cannot comment on much, however everyone, PLEASE, PLEASE, if you have this noise, see your dealer and have them submit a TAC request. I don't care if it's just a noise and doesn't effect driving. They need these documented to push the case to ford to...
For now, have the TSB done, and push the issue that it is not fixed. Same if they replace the trans. Let the dealer know that it is not fixed. That is very important in this.
I escalated this concern to Ford Engineering with my personal Bronco and spoke with an Engineer a few minutes ago. For the sake of keeping my job, I cannot say exactly what was said. HOWEVER. They are aware of this situation and we must keep an eye on published OASIS messages in the coming...
This actually says it all. Not to mention I know fellow techs have done the TSB and the vehicles are back. Cold hard facts. The TSB was completed as outlined and the noise was not fixed. What more do you need? Copy of workorder?
I dont see how when the concern returns so quickly. If this bought maybe 25k miles until return, I would say maybe. But this comes back inside of a week. That's hardly even a fix.
That is false. I just logged in and there is no superseded bulletin and all of the parts list is the same with the same numbers. You've been lied to lol
Spoke with a fellow technician who performed the TSB on a customer vehicle. No damage was found, TSB was completed and noise is back. I have attached a photo of the old synchro rings which are not damaged and were identical to the new "replacement". They have reached out to Ford for next steps.
Mine did not start until around the 8,000-mile mark and it is only audible at or below around 25 degrees. Same with a coworker. So, if we lived in a place where it doesn't get below 40, I would also be saying mine is not affected, even though it is in fact bad. Which reiterates my point that all...
Not a single doubt that this effects every single manual gearbox. Not everyone is hearing it. And to an extent, on a lot of them, if you hop in and turn on the radio and go about your day you would never hear it. There's almost zero chance that there are any gearboxes that are not affected.
Check your window sticker. My 2022 base says power side mirror with heated glass. Top left of the sticker. AFAIK heater mirrors are standard....my biggest gripe is the headlights are not heated and get frozen over and you can't see shit in the snow....
