I noticed a bit of a vibration / rattle from the dash with heavy base from my upgraded dash miss. Upon examination of the dash I noticed that there is no rubber between the windshield and the dash where they meet - just a flimsy foam padded strip. I found this rubber strip on Amazon for around...
I had to drill some new holes in the vehicles sheet metal around the speaker mount the speakers but they did fit just fine. I never tried putting the covers back on - they look like they will fit but if they are driven hard it's possible they would make contact with the grill...
Makes sense - I'm definitely feeling enough FOMO right now to buy another amp :)
With audio stuff, it can be an expensive quest that never ends cheaply because our minds and ears are asking for more until we are absolutely sure that it just couldn't possibly sound any better
Sure - have her up on the lift now doing some maintenance stuff (tightening bolts and doing fluids) but as soon as I bring her back down I'll snap some pics - happy to share.
Aside from being rude and super low-class, most of the people who insult / comment on what people can or can't afford probably don't have much more than the money they saved and scrounged to spend on their Bronco and feel like that gives them the right to put others down...really gross behavior...
I'll bet that sounds sweet!
I mounted the GB40 in the factory dash locations and the tweeters in the A-pillars adjacent to the window defrosters. Pain in the rear but sounds great...
I posted a picture of the tweeter install and method of install here...
That Volvo sounds fricken sweet for sure! I'm glad you posted a reply because it clarified something for me.
Really interesting about the investment / power situation - and very correct. My GB-40 and GB-10 sharing 4 channels total with the GB410 crossovers sound pretty close to their potential...
I have both amps and the massive Audiofrog GB-410 crossovers mounted to a simple rack on the floor in the cargo area that I built with hinges so it lifts with the floorboard to expose the tire tools and little storage compartment - I have the Ford cargo enclosure so at least there is a degree of...
Have GB-10 tweeters, GB-40 dash speakers, GB-60 in the kick panels, and GB-60 in rear pods - the GS are great speakers for the money, but my love of music pushed me to go GB as there was no way I could listen to music knowing that it could sound just a bit better. I had JL C2s before switching...
I believe you are correct about the kick panel speaker grills - I did not put them back on after installing the GB-60 speakers because they have massive excursion when driven, but also with the huge amount of plastic I was sure it was degrade the sound and also reverberate. I did some further...
BACKGROUND
I recently upgraded (my already upgraded) base audio system in my 4 door BD.
I am now running Audiofrog GB-10 Tweeters in the A-pillars, a pair of GB-40 the factory dash locations, a pair of GB-60 in the kick panels, and a pair of GB-60 in Mabett rear pods. The Audiofrogs are...
