I'm not sure what winch you are using, although I'd guess all solenoid boxes are pretty similar, but the HF 12k unit was actually pretty light... I don't think I'd put my body weight on the bracket I came up with, but I'm satisfied it'll hold the solenoid box through the majority of my...
Zone 3" Adventure series (ZONF97)? Just curious because I don't see where their kit addresses the track bar so what bracket did you use? I'm exploring my options on this topic as well...
And don't forget that not all 37's are created equal. For example, I'd say that in general terms if a BFG tire is your flavor of choice, you'll have a easier time than someone wanting to run a Nitto...
I believe that RC Jeep winch plate is exactly the same one I started with; I picked it up off Amazon several years ago.
Yes, I have a tube bender.
I was happy to see how easy it was to clock this Badland 12k winch so the clutch lever is easily accessible through the face of the bumper:
My issues on my first hidden mount were purely self inflicted... I didn't put enough thought into accessing the clutch lever so I ended up making a little reach tool to access it down below the radiator, which meant popping the hood every time I needed to winch, or just powering out instead of...
Good to hear, appreciate the feedback. And that's a good looking front bumper, I don't believe I've seen that one before. Did you make that, or who offers it?
Thank you!
No, intercooler stayed exactly where it was before, although I did add a 3/16" shim to the lower mounting flange to make up for the thickness of the frame bracket sandwiched in there... I left 3/8" clearance between the face of the intercooler and the back edge of the winch plate...
Unlike the hidden winch mount I built for our '22 Badlands with the Lux package, our '22 Wildtrak has the High package which means no adaptive cruise and the winch could be mounted between the frame rails where it belongs (y)
The previous owner of this WT had already installed a DV8 front...
Yes, yes it does... But, so far I haven't been able to determine if it's there for some sort of structural rigidity or just to act as a quazzi-skid. Does anyone know the answer to that question, because if it's the latter then removing it for a lower-profile solution seems like a win?
Sorry to drag this back up from the dead but it's the only thread that shows up when I search "crossmember brace"...
Anyone have any long-term reports from REMOVING these braces completely? The UHMW is a creative approach to keeping them straight, but I'm more of a fan of not having them there...
Selling some stuff off of a '22 Wildtrak we just picked up:
Gatorback mud flaps $500 for the set of (4)
Unknown step rails: $100
Sasquatch flares: $100
All located in the Tri-Cities area 99352.
I've always wanted to run Fordyce... One of these years...
How come you guys called it quits at the water crossing? Was it too deep or were you just out of time?
Thanks for sharing (y)
