I pulled a creeper move today and checked out someone else's hard top in a parking garage. All looked good and completely unnoticeable until you put a light on it (as seen in my photo with flash on). Guarantee this owner has no clue their hard top is cracking, just like many others who think...
I think the noises are probably being overstated. Most of the TOR hard top users are coming from a soft top. The soft top is very noisy, and I think the expectation of those finally able to get a hard top were expecting no noise. But yes, any sort of removable top is going to have some noise...
This is all basically why I don't let anyone drive my Bronco. Don't F with my seat position or mirror positions, because I'll never be able to get back to the settings I have dialed in.
No. It will not fit. If you want the lights behind the spare, you’ll need to use the Diode Dynamics SS1 size lights without the bracket. You’ll have to attach them directly to the plastic spare tire carrier (like others have done) and make sure they will shine right through an opening in your wheel.
Just the back section. For mine, they re-used the rear flip-up window, but put new side windows in. The new rear section comes with no windows, and they have to order the windows and the headliner separate.
The Krytox is more of a clear grease than a liquid. That said, I think you’d be fine if you just put a little vasoline (or automotive equivalent) until you can get Krytox. You don’t need a whole lot.
I have the OEM MIC hardtop as well, and that has some minor small noises too. Not bad at all though. I think a removable top is always going to have some squeaks and rattles.....just the nature of it. Most of my noises come from the rear flip-up window meeting the tailgate, which as many have...
I’ve had a similar issue going on for like 9 months now. But mine sounds like just 1 piece of very tiny plastic. Noticeable when I turn (but very faint sounding). My noise seems to be coming from the bottom of the steering wheel behind the bottom plastic trim. Unfortunately the whole steering...
Check your jack storage area in the back. The jack and/or accessories in the storage compartment can sometimes come loose, rattle, and be the culprit to the noise you’re hearing.
Agree. Have received a personal phone call from John in the past regarding an issue, which is so unheard of these days. Much appreciated and well done SPV.
Congrats! Looks great. You're the first I've seen that ordered the primer finish from AC and got it painted. That's a great work-around for those who want the AC top but don't like the "textured" finish......although you're also saying you've seen the black textured finish and it looks fine...
SPV has had a product like this out for well over a year, but only taps the parking/running light circuit. I’m using the SPV version and works great.
