Both engines very good, imo. Have and had 2.3 and earlier variants. Stick! 2.3 more economical. One of our boys had the '21 2.7 and stick--no problems, but not economical....enjoy!
4000 miles on our's; only issue was the TSB tranny--fixed(?) after 2 month wait for parts. So far, so good. Have Fun--Enjoy the 'OPEN' Road! Go "topless", perhaps.....Jeeps/Broncos='nuthin' like 'em.....imo. Prefer Bronco. Our Jeep was more primitive, but, durable mechanically until the rust...
My personal opinion (directed to Ford heirarchy, primarily) is that idiot warning light(s)/psuedo 'gauges'= bad. Real, Denso/Stewart-Warner, et al 'real' gauges= good.
Yes. The "old, defective parts" (the 5/6th synchronizers) "came out in 2 pieces each when the tech broke the tranny down--new parts came in (5/6 each in one piece), put in=working great so far....don't give up on the Bronco yet! Lot's of fun to drive, and, practical imo....
I/we (wife's Bronco) had the problem; now fixed (after almost 2 months). No problems so far. You can't miss/ignore the "sound".....good luck. Make them FIX it!
Yes, and, No. See my post today. Evidently both new tranny and parts(both synchronizers) arrived simultaneously. Had our tranny already out, put in new parts, seems ok. No grinding, rattling on cold/o/n idle........we have extended warranty, so............
We feel/felt your pain. almost 2 months before we got confirm/TSB and part(s) ordered. Ford authorized new tranny due to inability of part not yet available; I called to check on status=surprise=new tranny came in, so did parts(5/6th gear synchronizers-which came out in "2 pieces-not one piece"...
Stock: 2dr base, 2.3, stick (long wait for tranny parts of 2 months over/TSB fix). No mods. Did buy tube doors so wife can go doorless & topless. Nothing El$e.....current mileage 2,800.
Our '22 base 2 dr stick has 2800 miles on; wife drives mostly. I saw the posts/TSB, etc., we both heard grinding/rattling sounds, took in Feb. 12. Dealer ordered parts per TSB; finally all parts were on hand this past week; some issue with "old synchronizers opposed to new (2 parts vs 1...
Never considered a 4 door!. The original issue had only 2 doors. We went with the original, sporty look. If we wanted a 4 door we could have bought an Xploer, etc. 2 or 4 drs, u ain't gonna haul much; easy in/ez out backs seats would be a great option to enable more back space, but, this...
Yes. Not yet anyway; I just noticed mine yesterday a.m. after sitting overbite (warm garage) so noise(s)/symptoms not as pronounced? Still call dealer---noises in trannys like these foretell bigger problems down the road. FORD needs to address the issue NOW---NOT f'n later.....as usual.
